What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 641

Kaia frowned. "Your words hold little reference value."

Finnian was embarrassed and instantly stopped analyzing it for her.

A nearby clock ticked. When neither of them spoke, the second hand could be heard moving forward step by step.

This was time that would never return; with every tick, a second slipped away.

Finnian's heart was unsettled by the ticking. He glanced up at the clock, fighting the urge to take it down and rip out the battery.

Kaia sat on the sofa, holding her phone. "Brynlee hasn't come down for a long time. Do you want to go upstairs and check on her?"

Finnian also looked up, then stood up and strode upstairs with his long legs.

A short while later, he came back down. He balled his fist, coughing lightly. "Brynlee still has twenty gift boxes to open, and she won't let me watch."

"Exactly how many gifts did you get her?" Kaia was shocked. She felt Finnian was spoiling their daughter too much, which wasn't a good thing.

"A hundred," Finnian replied.

"Don't buy her so many in the future," Kaia reminded him.

"Okay, I'll listen to you!" Finnian's eyes brightened as he looked at her.

A spark of irritation ignited in Kaia's chest, and she glared at him angrily.

Finnian smiled innocently, sitting back on the sofa and resting his arms on the armrests.

"Kaia, am I your first love?" Finnian, feeling bored, threw out another question.
