What We Had Was Never Real novel Chapter 6

Natania sat at the dining table, but the warm and delicious breakfast tasted like wax in her mouth.

Scenes of Stephen's thoughtful gentleness and Rosalie's provocations kept playing in her mind, making her lose her appetite.

She spun on her heel, headed upstairs, and began to pack her belongings.

This villa held too many of their memories, so she had to let go of every last bit of it personally.

Rosalie suddenly appeared behind her. "Ms. Wendell, you sure do know how to hold your temper. Andy is the future heir to the Fost family, while I'm the mother of that heir. There's no place for you here."

Natania raised her head and gave her a small smile.

Her calm reaction sent Rosalie off kilter, and she was somewhat at a loss for what to do. She frowned and said, "I know you don't want to divorce Stephen, but you can't be so selfish as to cling on to the title of Mrs. Fost, right? The Fost family has never been able to accept a woman who can't even bear children."

Natania scoffed, her eyes shining with mockery. "The title of Mrs. Fost? If you like it so much, then you can have it."

With that said, she took out the divorce agreement from her bag and held it out to Rosalie.

"You know how Stephen feels about me, so getting him to agree to the divorce won't be easy. I'm handing you the divorce papers now. If you're so capable, then have him sign it before returning it to me. If you can't do that, then be prepared to be a mistress for the rest of your life, with no status to your name!"

Rosalie's face lit up with delight as she snatched the papers. When she saw that Natania had already signed the forms, a searching look appeared in her eyes. "Are you really willing to leave Stephen?"

Natania's heart skipped a beat. Considering that loving Stephen had consumed more than half her life, she couldn't possibly pretend to be indifferent to the thought of leaving him.

Slowly shutting her eyes, she fought to suppress the raging emotions surging within her. When she opened her eyes again, all that was left was placid calmness.

"I won't lower myself to the point of fighting another woman for a man!"
