Chapter 1983 A Different Solution
Robert nodded. “Yes, we must take full advantage of this wonderful opportunity.”
He instructed his subordinates to continue posting news online about Cecilia's unfilial behavior, aiming to expedite the decline of Jamieson Group's stock price.
He had wanted to take advantage of the crisis to get his revenge.
At that very moment, Bethany and Alphonse, together with Brooklyn, had also seen the news.
She immediately called Cecilia. “Cecilia, why didn't you tell me about such big news? I'll silence those people right away!”
In a rush, Cecilia said, “Aunt Brooklyn, calm down. I have a different solution.”
“A different solution? What is it?” Brooklyn was somewhat anxious.
“You'll find out soon enough,” Cecilia said. “When the time comes, I'll be counting on you to help me share this with as many people as possible online.”
“Of course, no problem.”
Seeing how confident Cecilia was, Brooklyn wasn't as worried as she was at the beginning.
She then informed Cecilia's grandparents, reassuring the elderly couple not to worry as Cecilia had everything under control. Only then did she hang up the phone.
At the same time, Cecilia instructed Charlotte to get in touch with Heather, telling her to wait for her at home.
Nathaniel had also called.
Just like the others, Cecilia told him that she could handle it herself, and he didn't need to worry about it.
Once the workday ended in the evening, Cecilia returned home to find Heather leisurely lounging on the living room couch, acting as if she were the lady of the house, ordering the housekeeper around.
Elliot was also at home, and upon seeing Cecilia return, he felt somewhat unhappy.
“Mommy, you're finally back. Who is this old lady? She has no manners at all. She is rude the housekeeper, and even asked me to fetch water for her.”
“You've been trashing me online, causing my company's stock price to plummet. How could I not come back?” Cecilia said, completely unruffled.
Heather scoffed, “Do you now know what's good for you? Let me tell you, it's too late.”
“What do I need to do for you to clarify in public that I have no obligation to support you financially? You have two sons, a granddaughter, and a great-grandchild. Why is it my responsibility to take care of you?” Cecilia continued in a calm and gentle tone.
Heather held her head high, lifting her chin into the air.
“If you want me to clarify, you'll need to take good care of me and help your two uncles out a little.”
“Help out? What exactly do you mean?” Cecilia asked.
After some thought, Heather said, “All they want is for you to help them unconditionally when they come looking for you. Now that they're having some cash flow issues, you could lend them a few hundred million.”
She spoke presumptuously, utterly unaware that Cecilia was broadcasting their conversation to the world.
