When Her Death Couldn't Break Him (Cecilia and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 1997

Meanwhile, in the upstairs CEO's office, the receptionist had already informed Charlotte.

Upon learning that Yuliana had brought along the two men from the Escobar family, Charlotte decided to intervene.

Seeing the situation, Cecilia stopped her. “Forget it. Since it's already come to this, there's no use trying to stop them now.”

“All right, then.”

Sure enough, it wasn't long before Yuliana burst through the door, her face beaming with joy.

“Cecilia, the business deal I went on a trip to negotiate a few days ago was successful.”

Cecilia rose to her feet. “That's fantastic, Yuliana. You're truly amazing.”

As she spoke, her gaze inadvertently fell upon the two men trailing behind Yuliana.

James and Jonah noticed Cecilia looking at them and gave an awkward smile.

“Ceci, so you are at the office after all,” James couldn't help but say. “The receptionist told us that you weren't there.”

Cecilia didn't pay any attention to the two people. He turned to Yuliana and said, “Yuliana, thanks for helping. Go and get some rest.”

Unaware of the unusual situation, Yuliana shook her head and spoke.

“I'm not tired at all, Cecilia. Could you line up a few more projects for me? I find striking a deal so fulfilling.”

Charlotte, with her keen perception, approached Yuliana. “Ms. Jamieson, shall I show you some of the projects that the company is currently discussing?”

“Okay. That'll be great.” Yuliana nodded repeatedly, following Charlotte as they left together.

Once the two individuals had left, only Cecilia, James, and Jonah remained in the office.

A hint of embarrassment marked the faces of the two men as they approached Cecilia, presenting her with the gifts they had purchased.

“Ceci, these are some snacks we specifically ordered from abroad,” James said. “They're nothing fancy. I hope you won't mind them.”
