Cecilia sent in the chat: Chelsea, you'd better tell Jason what you've done, just in case things go sideways.
Chelsea replied: Yeah, I will.
Cecilia stopped looking at the messages and went to wash up.
When she returned to the bedroom, she saw Nathaniel playing with Jonathan and Elliot. The sight of the father and two children in the same room looked incredibly harmonious and joyful.
That scene made Cecilia feel immensely blissful, as if that was all she desired in life.
"Mommy, you're finally done showering." As if Cecilia were his savior, Elliot stood up from the chair and ran toward her.
Only then did Cecilia realize Nathaniel wasn't playing with the boys at all. Instead, Nathaniel was supervising Elliot as the boy did his homework.
Elliot hugged Cecilia. "Mommy, my life is so tiring."
Before Cecilia could comfort him, Nathaniel's cold voice rang out from a distance. "Elliot, you answered another two questions wrongly. Didn't you notice?"
Elliot shuddered at once.
Jonathan, who was busy with his own things, sighed. "Eli, how can you make a mistake on such a simple quadratic equation?"
Elliot pouted. "You all are devils."
He wanted to cry so badly, but no tears came out.
Distressed, Cecilia cooed, "Eli, don't cry. It's okay if you can't do it. Those things are beyond your current level."
Elliot nodded repeatedly upon hearing Cecilia's words. "See, Mommy said it too. Those questions are too difficult for my age."
He added, "Jon, you're different. You're a genius, but I don't want to be a genius."
Cecilia smiled and stroked his head. "Neither of you needs to be a genius. I just want you all to grow up healthy and happy."
"Good night," she replied.

Nathaniel didn't reply. Before Cecilia noticed, he had come up to her and pulled her into his embrace.

Nathaniel didn't want his children to grow up being unable to provide for their own households or become easy targets.

"Okay." Nathaniel lowered his head and kissed her on the forehead, then picked her up in his arms.
Being lifted off the ground, Cecilia held onto his shoulders.
