Jocelyn and Yannick were met with a torrent of complaints upon their arrival at the shop.
"You're finally here. This drunkard not only got plastered, but he also smashed quite a bit of our liquor. Don't forget to pay for the damages before you leave with him," the shop assistant said.
Jocelyn looked in the direction of his finger.
It was her first time seeing Nicholas in such a state.
His clothes were messy, and his face was unshaven, making him look slovenly. At that moment, he was slumped drunkenly on the couch. Broken wine bottles surrounded him, and the air was thick with the smell of alcohol.
Worry filled Jocelyn's eyes. She was about to apologize to the shop assistant when Yannick, standing next to her, said coldly, "How can your shop be this irresponsible? Do you realize that if anything had happened to him here today, all of you would be held accountable?"
He was not as easygoing as Jocelyn.
"He drank the alcohol himself. How is that our problem?" the shop assistant stated dismissively.
It was Yannick's first time meeting someone so foolish, which explained why the shop assistant had insisted on having Jocelyn come over.
"It's one thing to be foolish, but you must be kind. Go look up cases like this, and you'll know if it's your problem or not," Yannick said.
With that, he didn't bother arguing further with the shop assistant. Turning to Jocelyn, he said, "Let's go check on him."
"Okay." Jocelyn nodded.
They walked toward Nicholas together.
Nicholas was half-lying down in a drunken stupor, occasionally letting out a low cough.
"Mr. Nicholas..." Jocelyn started to call out, but remembering Yannick's dislike for that title, she quickly corrected herself, "Mr. Rainsworth, wake up, Mr. Rainsworth."
Nicholas' head was pounding, and it felt as if it would explode.
He endured the pain and turned over, seemingly oblivious to Jocelyn's calls.
Jocelyn turned to look at Yannick. "What should we do?"

"Mmm..." He let out a muffled groan of pain.
At that sight, Jocelyn couldn't help but call out to him. "Mr. Rainsworth, are you all right?"

Later, due to some incidents, his health worsened, forcing him to receive treatment abroad.
Jocelyn had been his caregiver for several years.
His health had just stabilized, but judging by his current state, he seemed to be suffering a relapse.
As if he had heard someone calling him, Nicholas forced his eyes open despite how heavy his eyelids felt.
He saw Jocelyn's face, but it was kind of blurry.
