If it weren't to help Dahlia and Meredith, Cecilia would never want to see Cassandra again in her life.
Jealousy and hatred bubbled in Cassandra's heart when she saw how radiant Cecilia looked.
She took a deep breath and replied, "Do you really want to know?"
"Duh. Why would I come all the way here to see you if I didn't want to know?" Cecilia retorted.
The look in Cassandra's eyes changed, and she remained silent.
Cecilia continued, "I'm here now, so you should tell me, shouldn't you? Stop beating around the bush. I don't have much time to spare."
Cassandra balled her fists. "Cecilia, you just have better luck than me, that's all."
Staring at Cecilia, she continued, "I'll tell you this—I don't know who Dahlia's biological father is! But there is one person who might know."
"Who?" Cecilia pressed.
"Promise me one thing, and I'll tell you," Cassandra said.
Cecilia furrowed her brows slightly. "If you're trying to get me to let you off, don't bother. I won't spare you for someone who has no relation to me."
Cassandra pursed her lips in response. "I just want you to make my life better here. No, to be precise, don't let me suffer so much."
At first, Cassandra thought the beatings were temporary.
But so much time had passed, and she was still being beaten. She simply couldn't take it anymore.
Therefore, when Meredith came to inquire about Dahlia's biological father, she saw an opportunity.
Asking Meredith for help was useless, as the culprits of her suffering were Yuliana and Cecilia.
"Is that all?" Cecilia asked.
Cassandra nodded. "My life is already ruined, but I truly can't handle the daily beatings anymore. As long as you promise me, I'll tell you about Dahlia's father."
Cecilia sighed. "I used to think Paula was heartless. Now I realize you're even crueler. At least she would selflessly protect her own daughter. But you? You're willing to use your own daughter."
How can Nicholas know who the father is when Cassandra doesn't? Cecilia's frown deepened. "What kind of answer is that?"
Nicholas actually had someone cuckold him? Has he gone completely mad?
Cecilia did believe her. After all, Cassandra wouldn't joke about her own suffering.
Rising to her feet, she said, "I got it."
Just as she was about to leave, Cassandra quickly called out to her. "The thing you promised me—"

She killed my biological mother, yet she foolishly hoped for me to let her off. How laughable.
Only then did Cassandra realize Cecilia had been playing her. "Cecilia, y-you tricked me!"

Cassandra's eyes widened. "Queenie is dead?"
Cecilia offered no answer. She simply walked away as Cassandra continued to roar behind her.
