After an indeterminate time, Nathaniel told the driver to head to Jamieson Group.
If Nicholas had really done that to Cecilia, how could he ever console her?
Before long, the car rolled to a stop beneath the Jamieson Group tower.
Nathaniel stepped out and strode toward the building.
Employees who recognized him guided him straight to Cecilia's office.
Executive Office
Inside, Cecilia was working when Arnold knocked. "Ms. Cecilia, Mr. Nathaniel is here."
She lifted her head toward the doorway.
Nathaniel stood in a sharp suit, straight as a blade, yet his face looked faintly worn.
"Why are you here?" Cecilia asked, surprised; shouldn't he be at his own office now?
Once Arnold left and shut the door, Nathaniel walked straight to her.
"Ceci." His dark eyes brimmed with layers she couldn't read.
Cecilia met his gaze. "What's going on?"
Nathaniel had no idea where to start.
"Ceci, do you remember something I once told you?"
She tried to follow. "You've told me lots of things; I don't know which one you mean."
His Adam's apple bobbed; his palm settled on her cheek.
Confused, she felt his fingertip slide downward until it rested on her neck.
In that second, comprehension crashed over her.
So Nathaniel knew everything.
"You found out?" Cecilia's hand tightened. "I'm sorry."
