Chapter 317 Her Husband, Kason
In the end, Kason booked a flight for tonight and chose to fly back home with Heather.
But Heather didn’t say a word to him on the way to the airport.
Kason glanced at the bite mark on his wrist, raised an eyebrow, and gently ran his thumb over the teeth marks.
“What are you, a dog? Do you really like biting me that much?” he teased.
Heather turned her head to look out the window. When she heard him, she just closed her eyes, making it clear she wasn’t going to talk to him.
‘Who actually likes biting you? It’s not like I have some weird kink, Heather thought to herself.
‘It’s just that every time I can’t get the upper hand with you, biting is the only way I can fight back, she grumbled inwardly. Seeing she was still ignoring him, Kason firmly cupped the back of Heather’s head and made her face him.
“Pretending you can’t hear me?” he said.
Heather had no choice but to open her eyes and glare at him. She said, “If you keep messing with me, don’t think I won’t bite you again.”
Hearing this, Kason raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile tugging at his lips as he looked at her.
“Aren’t you always sinking your teeth into me and never letting go?” he said.
Maybe she’d just spent too much time around him, so Heather got the joke right away.
Her face suddenly blushed shyly. She kept darting glances at Gael in the driver’s seat.
Gael, expressionless, seemed to catch on and silently raised the partition between the front and back seats.
Heather’s eyes narrowed, and she tried to bite him again. But this time, Kason was actually on guard and managed to avoid her attack.
Kason pinched her cheek, frowning. “Is this a habit I gave you, or did you always do this?” he asked.
Heather just stared at him, silent. Her eyes filled with both embarrassment and irritation.
Kason noticed, shot a glance at the raised partition, and said lightly, “What’s there to be embarrassed about? Gael’s basically family.”
Heather finally shoved his hand away, rubbed her cheek, and muttered through gritted teeth. “Do you really think everyone’s as shameless as you?”
“You call that shameless?” Kason smirked.
As he spoke, Kason leaned in even closer. Heather instinctively shrank back, pressing herself against the car door.
“You’re so thin-skinned, and you still want to dig into my past? If Amelie hadn’t come tonight, and I’d actually taken you to see some of those legendary moments, you’d probably be looking for a hole to hide in,” he teased.
Heather knew she couldn’t win this argument, so she gave up and just ignored him, turning her head to the window.
She said in a frosty tone, “Stop. I don’t want to talk right now!”
Kason wasn’t about to push his luck. After all, having an old flame show up out of nowhere was definitely not a pleasant experience.
“Mrs. Bradford, you really are generous,” he teased.
Heather pretended not to hear him and just closed her eyes, totally shutting him out.
She was definitely angry, but it wasn’t because of Amelie.
It was all the stuff Kason had just pulled on her and the way he messed with her. That’s what really got under her skin.
Every single time, she was always the one stuck just putting up with it, never able to fight back.
Even after they got off the plane, Heather didn’t say a single word to Kason, no matter how many times he tried to start a
conversation.
Kason watched Heather walking ahead, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Beside him, Gael glanced at Heather’s retreating figure and said coolly, “Why do I get the feeling you’re totally wrapped around her finger?”
Kason raised an eyebrow and let out a dismissive snort.
“You’ve got it all wrong. Me, wrapped around her finger? Don’t make me laugh,” he scoffed.

But Gael suddenly turned to him and said, “Not as funny as you lying to yourself.”
“Says the guy who’s the real comedian here,” Kason shot back.
Heather was walking ahead when, out of nowhere, she heard someone shout a name.
“Oliver, Oliver!”
Heather stopped dead in her tracks as soon as she heard that name, her heart skipping a beat. ‘Why does that name sound so familiar?’ she wondered.
She instinctively glanced around, scanning the crowd for the source.
After a quick sweep, her eyes finally landed on a face she recognized.
‘Oliver…’ Heather froze for a moment, the name sending a jolt through her.
He was her classmate from both high school and college, and also her ex. They had been together for two years before.
She watched as Oliver walked out from another exit. It looked like a friend was there to pick him up.
The two guys laughed, hugged, and bumped fists like old buddies.
Heather stood a few meters away, watching them. Without even realizing it, her hands had balled into fists inside her trench coat pockets, so no one could see how tense she was.
Seeing Heather suddenly freeze, Kason didn’t hesitate and wrapped her up in his arms.
“Happy now?” he said.
Heather’s eyes darted away, but her heart skipped a beat for reasons she couldn’t quite name. ‘Why am I feeling like this?’ she wondered, confused.
But just then, a bunch of reporters suddenly swarmed over and blocked their way.
“Mr. Bradford, Ms. Lynch, did you just get back from overseas?” one of them called out.
“Mr. Bradford, do you have anything to say about the recent financial news?” another reporter asked.
Heather pressed her lips together, staying silent. While Kason, still holding her close, glanced at the cameras and flashed a casual smile.
“We really don’t need to explain anything. Those small companies aren’t even worth as much as a single project we have. Why would Lynch Group bother targeting a few small businesses? What’s the point?” he said.
The reporters seemed to agree, realizing those small companies weren’t really worth much to begin with.
Gael stepped forward, blocking the cameras with his arm and said calmly, “Sorry, everyone, please make way.” Kason glanced at Heather, who looked a little out of it, and leaned close, murmuring in her ear, “Let’s go.”
Heather’s gaze flickered, and she gave a small nod. But as Kason led her away, she couldn’t resist glancing back as they walked off.
Oliver and his friend seemed to notice the little scene happening on Heather’s side. At some point, their attention shifted
over.
As Heather glanced back, she locked eyes with Oliver through the crowd.,
For a moment, Heather was stunned. But the crowd quickly cut off their line of sight. Then, she quickly looked away, regaining her composure.
It felt like that fleeting eye contact from a few meters away was nothing but a random accident.
