Chapter 318 Ex Boyfriend
Chapter 318 Ex-Boyfriend
Heather got out of the car and saw that Kason didn’t look like he was getting out with her. She turned back and asked, Aren’t you coming in with me?”
Kason pinched the bridge of his nose and said quietly, “I’ve got something to handle. I’ll be back for dinner tonight. Wait for me at home, okay?”
Heather wasn’t in the mood to deal with him right now, so she just shut the car door without another word.
She stood at the front gate, watching the car drive away before turning to head into the yard.
When Greta saw her, she walked over with a smile and asked, “How have things been between you two these past few days?” Heather shook her head and replied, “Same as always.”
Greta nodded, still smiling. “That’s fine, just take it slow. But honestly, I feel like something’s different between you two now.” “What’s changed between us?” Heather asked.
“I heard from that maid that he’s been keeping you by his side lately,” Greta said.
Heather nodded. “Yeah.”
“But he’s never brought a woman along when he’s handling business before,” Greta said.
Heather looked at Greta quietly and said, “Maybe it’s because we’re legally married?”
Greta didn’t argue. “Before you, he was dead set against marriage. And believe me, he was absolutely serious about it. So when he called and told me he’d married you, I was totally floored.”
“So, was it the fact that he got married that surprised you, or was it that he married me that really caught you off guard?” Heather asked.
Greta smiled, a knowing glint in her eyes.
She admitted, “Both, to be honest. At first, I even wondered if he married you as some kind of payback. I had my doubts, worried he might do something impulsive and mess things up. That’s why I came back. To keep an eye on him, just so he wouldn’t do anything he’d regret later.”
Heather looked at her quietly. “So, what about now?”
Greta shook her head gently and replied, “I’m certain now that he won’t use this marriage as revenge against you.”
Heather felt a sudden tightness in her chest, but her face stayed calm. “Why are you so sure?” she asked.
“If he wanted to get back at you, he would’ve done it ages ago. He wouldn’t haye waited until now. He’s invested a lot of time in you,” Greta said.
After that, Greta gave her a meaningful look and smiled.
She added, “Just keep trying. I know you can do it.”
Heather gave a faint smile and said, “I’m feeling a little worn out. I think I’ll go upstairs and rest for a bit.”
“Alright, I’ll tell you when dinner’s ready. Did he say he’d be home tonight? Greta asked.
“He did,” Heather replied.
Once she got back to her room, Heather changed out of her clothes and grabbed her pajamas before heading into the bathroom.
After her shower, she sat down on the sofa, her expression as calm as ever.
But inside, her heart was anything but peaceful.
Running into Oliver at the airport today was a total surprise.
She honestly thought he’d never come back to Halinston.
However, just like that, they crossed paths again.
‘He definitely recognized me just now,’ Heather thought to herself,
Heather leaned back on the sofa, not really sure what she felt for Oliver anymore.
But one thing she knew for sure. She and Olive

Chapter 318 Ex Boyfriend
Now, even the chance to choose was gone for good.
No, she’d already made her choice.
She’d made up her mind the moment she stepped onto that plane bound for Mieashy.
Just then, her phone suddenly buzzed.
Heather stared at her phone on the coffee table, clutching the towel tighter in her hand.
She had a premonition, and when she picked up her phone and saw a message from a brand-new number, she knew her gut feeling was spot on.
Unknown: [Heather, it’s me.]
She was certainly sure this text was from Oliver.
She stared at the message for a long time. Just like that, memories she thought were dead and gone came rushing back. She clutched her phone.
Her lashes quivered. She knew better than anyone that in business, hesitation and greed were a recipe for disaster. After what felt like forever, Heather hit delete, erasing the message for good.
But the turmoil in her heart wouldn’t go away. The only person who really understood her past was Chiara. Besides her, Heather had no one else to talk to.
“Chiara…” Heather’s voice was soft, almost helpless.
“Heather? You’re back home?” Chiara asked.
Chiara knew Heather too well. If everything was fine, Heather would’ve just sent a text. She wouldn’t call out of the blue.
So Chiara added right away, “Did something happen? Tell me.”
After a few seconds of silence, Heather got straight to the point.
“I saw Oliver today when Kason and I were leaving the airport,” she said.
Chiara went quiet for a moment.
She was the only one who even knew Oliver existed.
Back then, not even their parents knew he was ever in the picture.
Heather and Oliver had really dated for a solid two years.
She knew they’d been classmates since high school, and even went to the same college.
And she was the only person who knew the real reason they broke up.
“Are you sure it was him?” Chiara asked.
“Do you really think I’d mistake him for someone else? He messaged me just now,” Heather replied.
Chiara bit her lip and said, “You’re Kason’s wife now, and he is not exactly the easygoing type. He’s pretty possessive. Maybe you should stay away from Oliver for now. Once things with Kason are settled, if things ever change, maybe you and Oliver could try again…”
“Chiara, there’s no chance for us anymore. That ended seven years ago,” Heather said quietly.
It all ended seven years ago, the moment Oliver broke up with her.
But deep down, she was still waiting for him. She believed she had enough time and enough patience to let him go after his dreams.
