Chapter 320 Called Another Man’s Name

Chapter 320 Called Another Man’s Name

Kason raised an eyebrow and let out a low chuckle. He said, “How could I possibly turn down such a thoughtful gesture from you?”

Heather opened her mouth but couldn’t get any words out. When she saw him actually pick up a piece of that charred food, she remembered the scene she’d just tried it herself. She swallowed hard and finally spoke up to stop him “Seriously, don’t eat it. It’s terrible.”

Kason burst out laughing. “You actually ate this stuff?”

Heather just stared, lost for words.

Even though he was teasing her, Kason went ahead and ate it anyway.

Heather kept her eyes glued to his face. When she saw his brows slowly furrow, she couldn’t help but smirk.

She passed him the water from the table, being nice about it.

“Don’t blame me, you were the one who wanted to try it,” she said.

Kason stopped chewing the moment he took a bite. Even though he’d grown up eating cold leftovers, nothing had ever tasted this bad.

It was bitter and salty, like someone was out to get him with poison.

Heather could tell right away, since she’d tried it herself and couldn’t even swallow it. She’d just spit it out.

So she grabbed a few tissues and handed them to him.

“If you can’t eat it, just spit it out,” she said.

Kason gave her a casual glance, took the tissues, and spat them out gracefully. He wiped his mouth, then picked up the glass and drank most of the water.

Just then, Greta came over with the soup. Seeing how close they were, she gave them a gentle smile.

“Don’t worry, it’s always like this the first time. I burned my first dish too. It’ll be better next time, just practice a few more times,” she said.

Hearing there’d be a next time, Kason smirked, “You really want to learn how to cook?”

Heather instantly got his drift. “What, you don’t want to be my poison tester?”

Kason raised an eyebrow. “I won’t be home for dinner tomorrow, got plans.”

Heather nodded. “Then the day after tomorrow.”

“I’m busy that day too,” Kason replied.

“Then the day after tomorrow,” Heather said, not giving up.

“Next week,” Kason replied.

“Next week…” Heather repeated.

“When did my company get so busy? Mr. Bradford, are you really that swamped?” she joked.

Greta listened to their back-and-forth, glanced at Kason. Seeing how relaxed he looked, she smiled quietly and went back

into the kitchen.

Kason paused, then said, “I’m going to be pretty busy these next few days.”

“Oh, really? That busy?” Heather said.

“Yes,” Kason replied.

“It’s fine, I’ll just head home early and cook for you, then drop it off at your office,” Heather offered.

Kason went silent, stared at her for a few seconds, then finally asked, “Are we eating or not?”

Heather glanced at his arm around her waist and asked, “How am I supposed to eat if you don’t let go?”

This time, Kason released her right away.

Heather sat down next to him, picked up her fork, and started eating slowly.

“Practice makes perfect. I should cook better t Successfully unlocked!

he said.

Kason glanced at those sorry-looking dishes and snu. e you reany that bored lately? Want me to give some of my work to you?”

“No, I just think cooking is actually pretty fun,” Heather replied.

“Don’t let Greta sweet-talk you just to cheer you up,” Kason said.

Heather took a bite of the food and looked at him. “What do you mean?”

“You know, cooking’s not for everyone. Greta nailed it on her first try,” Kason joked.

Greta popped her head out of the kitchen and teased, “That’s just because you hadn’t eaten in two days! My eggs were

burnt and full of shells, but you made it look like the best thing ever.”

Heather arched an eyebrow. For once, Kason looked genuinely embarrassed, his face turning a shade darker. ‘Did she really have to mention the whole starving for two days thing?’ he thought.

‘Who would ever buy that Kason went hungry as a kid?’ Heather wondered.

Seeing his reaction, she couldn’t help but let out a laugh.

Kason felt his forehead vein about to pop.

“What’s so funny?” he asked.

“You are so funny!” Heather said, all innocent.

Kason leaned back in his chair and narrowed his eyes. He tugged at his tie and just snorted without saying a word.

After dinner, Heather went back to her room, looking for a book to kill some time. Kason came in and picked her up off the sofa.

The book slipped from her hands and hit the floor. Heather yelped, throwing her arms around his neck.

“What are you doing?” she blurted out.

Kason didn’t bother answering. He just carried her straight into the bathroom.

It hit Heather what he was up to. She started struggling, kicking, and flailing her arms.

“Let me go! I already washed up! Why are you dragging me in with you? I’m clean!” Heather protested.

“Who says you can’t wash up again?” Kason retorted.

“Kason…” she complained softly.

After ages, Kason finally tossed her onto the bed. Not rough, but definitely not gentle. The mattress bounced a little under

her.

Kason sat at the edge of the bed and ran his thumb over his lips.

The next second, he grabbed her face, his expression dark, and gritted out, “Should I just file your teeth down so you can’t bite me anymore?”

Heather opened her eyes and saw a brand new bite mark at the corner of his mouth.

“Well, you started it! You expect me not to fight back?” she shot back.

Kason sucked in a sharp breath, glaring at her with clenched teeth. “I’ve never met a woman like you.”

Heather narrowed her eyes and replied coolly, “Or maybe, Mr. Bradford, you just haven’t met enough women yet.”

Kason instinctively avoided this topic with her, even though this was something he had never felt before.

Not that he even noticed it himself.

He stared at her for a long moment, his eyes unreadable, before holding her again.

Heather panicked and asked, “What do you want to do?”

“Bite for a bite,” he shot back.

Heather just stared, lost for words.

“Kason…” she started, but he tilted her head, exposing her neck before she could finish. What she felt wasn’t pain, just firm, possessive pressure.

He started to suck hard on her neck.

After a moment, he finally pulled away from the back of her neck. He checked out the mark he’d left with a satisfied smirk and raised an eyebrow.
