Chapter 319 Gamble With Kason
Chapter 319 Gamble With Kason
Chiara could tell something was up, but she wasn’t sure. She decided to ask in a roundabout way.
She said, “So, who do you find yourself thinking about the most?”
Heather froze for a second. ‘Wait… It’s not Chiara, not anyone else. The person I keep thinking of is Kason! she realized.
Heather’s grip on her phone tightened, but she didn’t say a word.
Chiara seemed to have figured something out. After a long pause, she finally spoke, “Heather, you’ve always been the smart and sensible one, right?”
Heather gripped her phone tightly and looked away. The photo album she’d brought back from Mieashy was still sitting on the coffee table.
“Maybe. How would I know if I never give it a shot? Guess I should learn from you,” Heather replied.
“Heather,” Chiara called out, her voice tinged with worry.
“But our situations aren’t the same. You and Kason…” she added.
“I know,” Heather said.
“So you’ve already made up your mind, haven’t you?” Chiara asked.
‘If she hadn’t, there’s no way she would’ve gone to Mieashy; Chiara thought.
It was a sign. They both knew it deep down. Kason probably understood it better than anyone.
Chiara fell silent for a long time before finally saying, “But what if what happened back then is really true…”
Heather replied softly, “Then that’s all the more reason for me to do this. If that’s really the case, maybe I can try to make things right.”
“You’re putting yourself in the line. What if you end up losing?” Chiara asked, her voice full of worry.
Her tone was clearly anxious. She was scared that, in the end, everything would end up with the worst possible outcome. “I’ll take my chances. If I lose, I’ll accept it,” Heather said, her voice calm and resolute.
Chiara stared at her phone after the call ended, biting her lip in worry.
Titus set the fruit platter in front of her, resting his hand gently on her belly as he asked in a low voice, “What did Heather say to you?”
Chiara shook her head and replied, “She’s actually betting her heart on Kason. Who do you think will come out on top?” Titus knew exactly what she was getting at. He arched a brow with a hint of amusement, forked a piece of fruit, and held it up to her lips.
Chiara instinctively opened her mouth. “Why won’t you answer me?”
Titus was feeding her red dragon fruit, all low-sugar fruits he’d picked out just for her.
He softly wiped the corner of her lips with a napkin before speaking. “In my eyes, I don’t think Heather will lose.”
“Why do you think that?” Chiara asked, still not understanding why Titus was so upbeat about it. Even before, he’d always seemed so sure.
He’d always believed their marriage might actually turn out to be a good thing.
Honestly, after nearly a year together, there hadn’t been any real drama between them.
With Kason running things, Lynch Group had even climbed into the top five leading companies in Halinston.
Titus met her gaze, his eyes unreadable, and simply said, “Just speaking from experience.”
Chiara raised an eyebrow and asked, “Since when did you get the experience?”
“From you,” Titus answered.
“That’s not the same, is it?” Chiara shot back.
“At the core, it’s pretty much the same,” Titus replied.
Chiara still looked worried. Clearly, she didn’t believe him.
Seeing her so anxious, Titus worried that all the Successfully unlocked! Ison might mess with her mood and the baby.
so he tried to comfort her.
“Trust me, Heather will definitely come out on top,” Titus said.

Chapter 319 Gamble With Kason
Chiara still looked skeptical, not buying where all that confidence was coming from.
After all, in her mind, Kason must totally hate them.
Honestly, if she were Kason, she’d do the same.
“Are you sure?” Chiara pressed, still unconvinced.
Titus rested his hand on her belly and nodded softly, his expression gentle.
“There’s still plenty of time. Let’s just watch how things unfold,” he said.
After the call, Heather found herself calm again. That wave of emotions she’d just felt seemed to fade away in an instant, like it was never even there.
She picked up the photo album and went downstairs to look for Greta.
“Greta, I brought your photo album back. Is this the one you wanted?” Heather asked.
Greta wiped her hands, took the album with a smile, and nodded. “Did you have a look through it?”
“Yeah, I did,” Heather replied.
“Did you see Gael in there?” Greta asked.
“Yeah, but I noticed there’s a girl in the photos who looks really close to them. Who is she?” Heather asked.
Greta flipped through the album and pointed to the girl in a photo with the two of them.
“Her name is Alice Griffin, Greta said.
“She’s also Griffin?” Heather asked.
“Kason changed her name. She used to be called Alice, but after he took her in, she started using his last name and became Alice Griffin,” Greta explained.
Heather nodded, not asking any more about it, and instead said, “What are we having for dinner tonight? Can I help you cook?”
Greta glanced at her and immediately understood what she was thinking. She nodded with a smile, clearly happy to have
company.
“Of course,” she replied.
But clearly, Greta had overestimated Heather’s cooking skills.
So when Kason came home for dinner and spotted three strange-looking dishes,on the table, he paused for a few seconds before raising an eyebrow at Greta.
Greta kept smiling at him. “What’s wrong?”
Kason let out a soft laugh and tilted his chin toward the dishes. “Care to explain what those blackened things are supposed to be?” he said.
Heather came downstairs after changing and saw her kitchen disasters actually set out on the table. Her face turned red
with embarrassment.
“Greta, why would you put those on the table…” Heather blurted, her voice full of disbelief.
Kason wasn’t clueless. He’d been reading people since he was a kid. It only took one glance for him to realize those burnt dishes had Heather cooked.
Greta chimed in at just the right moment, “These are all dishes Mrs. Bradford cooked herself, just for you. Doesn’t that move you at all?”
Kason just stared at her, completely speechless.
He stared at the dishes, couldn’t even tell what ingredients went into them, and raised an eyebrow.
He shot Greta a look. ‘You really think I’d dare eat that?’ he thought to himself.
But Greta completely ignored his look and just scooped those charred dishes right into his bowl.
“Just try it. It’s a little something from Mrs. Bradford, straight from the heart,” she said.
She even shot him a glare, like she was saying, “Don’t push your luck.”
Heather watched the two of them and was dying of embarrassment.
She’d told Greta to toss those dishes!
