When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 552

**HereSelf 552**
**Chapter 552: The Boss**

Shauna cast a lingering glance at the elegant house that loomed behind her, its sophisticated lines and opulent facade a testament to wealth and taste. With a determined resolve, she dialed Baron’s number, her heart racing with the implications of their current situation.

“Mr. Baron,” she began, her tone steady despite the turmoil around her. “James has been apprehended. However, I must say, this house is quite impressive. The interior is luxurious beyond belief. It must have cost a fortune. What are your instructions regarding it?”

Baron’s mind drifted momentarily to Holt. He recalled that Holt was not only James’ biological son but also a student of Natalie, his beloved wife. The connection felt significant; as the husband of Holt’s teacher, Baron felt a moral obligation to extend a gesture of goodwill toward the young man.

After a brief pause, Baron replied coolly, “Have a lawyer prepare a gratuitous gift agreement. During the interrogation, we’ll find a way to have James sign it and provide his fingerprint. This house will be transferred to Holt.”

“Who exactly is Holt?” Shauna asked, her curiosity piqued. The name was unfamiliar to her, and she couldn’t resist the urge to inquire further.

Baron’s voice remained composed. “He is my wife’s latest disciple and James’ son.”

“Oh, I see,” she responded, though her mind buzzed with the desire for more gossip. Yet, she understood that this was not the appropriate moment for idle chatter.

“Will you be conducting the interrogation yourself, Mr. Baron?” Shauna asked, her voice laced with a hint of concern.

Baron surveyed the heavy security presence surrounding the airport, where officers stood vigilant in layers, their eyes scanning for any signs of trouble. He contemplated the situation for a moment before responding, “Yes, I’ll go over shortly. But remember, ensure that he doesn’t catch wind of our location.”

“Understood, Mr. Baron,” Shauna acknowledged, her tone firm.

After ending the call, Shauna drove away with James, who was still reeling from the situation. Meanwhile, Baron informed Waylon that he had urgent matters to attend to and made his exit.

Waylon and Flynn exchanged glances but chose not to pry further; they trusted Baron’s judgment and knew he was not one to act impulsively.

The atmosphere was thick with tension as everyone remained on high alert, anxiously awaiting the arrival of Rachel and Jensen.

Inside the vehicle, Jensen slouched against the seat, a façade of nonchalance masking the whirlwind of thoughts in his mind.

I wonder if Natalie is here. If anything goes awry, I must ensure that she is safe.

Rachel, on the other hand, felt a gnawing sense of dread creeping into her chest.

“Stop the car!” she commanded suddenly, her voice sharp and urgent.

Jensen furrowed his brow at her outburst. “What are you doing now? Rachel, just because you have me here doesn’t mean you can act recklessly. I’ve made plans, and stopping now is not part of them!”

But Rachel was undeterred by his protestations. A strange sensation coursed through her, her left eyelid twitching uncontrollably as if it were trying to convey a warning.

“I need to make a call,” she declared, pulling out her phone with a determined flick of her wrist.
