When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 599

**TITLE: HereSelf 599**
**Chapter 599 A Desperate Plan**

Loretta felt the unbearable weight of despair pressing down on her heart, each beat echoing the pain that resonated within her.

“Jensen, please, you need to stop drinking! This isn’t the end! You are now a part of the Gunn family. Yes, Hayes may be gone, but the foundation of the Gunn family remains strong. If you can carve out a place for yourself within that family, there’s still hope for you,” she implored, her voice a mixture of urgency and compassion.

“What hope? What does it matter if I manage to secure a spot in the Gunn family? I’m just an illegitimate son! I have no wealth, no influence, and the woman I love won’t even glance my way. Mom, I could forsake everything else, but I just want Natalie! I’ve realized my mistakes. I truly regret everything. I want Natalie back! I want her heart, her gaze—everything to be solely for me! Baron is swimming in riches. What kind of woman could he not have? Why did he have to take Natalie from me?” Jensen’s voice was raw with anguish, each word a dagger piercing through Loretta’s heart.

Seeing her son in such torment, Loretta felt a surge of determination. “Jensen, you must pull yourself together. If you can do that, I promise I will help you,” she said firmly, her voice steady but filled with an underlying urgency.

“Mom, what did you just say?” Jensen’s eyes widened in disbelief as he turned to face her, a flicker of hope igniting within him.

For a brief moment, a glimmer of ruthlessness flickered in Loretta’s gaze, but it vanished almost instantly, replaced by a fierce resolve.

“Jensen, all you desire is Natalie, isn’t it? I will help you get her back,” she reiterated, her voice soft yet determined.

Jensen shook his head slowly, the weight of despair still heavy upon him. “Mom, Natalie isn’t just anyone anymore. She’s the heiress of the Stone Group! And I heard her brother is a professor who has made significant contributions to our country. I’m not worthy of her—not now, not ever!”

“Worthy? There’s no such thing as being worthy or unworthy. If it’s your heart’s desire, I’ll go to the ends of the earth to make it happen. I would pluck a star from the heavens if it meant bringing you happiness,” Loretta declared, her voice filled with fierce maternal love.

“Mom, what are you planning? Please, don’t hurt Natalie!” Jensen’s heart raced at the intensity of Loretta’s expression, the effects of the alcohol fading as fear took hold.

But Loretta tightened her grip on his wrist, lowering her voice. “Jensen, you and Natalie shared five years together. If you could truly let her go, you wouldn’t be in so much pain right now. I’ve heard of a drug that can erase memories. If we could somehow obtain it, make Natalie take it, and then whisk her away to a place where no one knows you… wouldn’t that be a fresh start?”

Jensen froze, his heart pounding in his chest. “A drug that causes amnesia? But won’t it… won’t it harm her?”

“Not at all! I’ve heard it’s a new development, and while it’s costly and not easily accessible, I can find a way to get it. Jensen, you’re the only family I have left in this world. I can’t bear to see you like this. If you’re happy, that’s all that matters to me. It’s just one Natalie, right? I promise I will bring you two together!”

Meanwhile, completely unaware of the dark plot being woven against her, Natalie was enjoying a blissful day at the beach with Baron and the children.

Baron had set up a sunshade, complete with an array of snacks and refreshing drinks, creating a perfect oasis for them.

As Natalie reclined on a lounge chair, sipping on freshly squeezed juice, she watched the children play gleefully along the shore, a smile spreading across her face.

“Look at how happy they are,” she remarked, glancing over at Baron, who was momentarily distracted by the sight.

“What? Are you not happy?” he asked, his tone playful yet slightly serious, as if he would silence her if her answer displeased him.

Realizing the weight of his gaze, Natalie quickly laughed, her heart lightening. “Of course, I’m happy! How could I not be? Mr. Baron himself has taken time out of his busy schedule to accompany the three of us on vacation. If I wasn’t happy, wouldn’t that make me ungrateful?”

“Just speak normally,” Baron replied, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes.
