Arbor video–called, and Olivia eagerly pulled the new kid in front of the camera. Thanos had just leaned in when she kicked him away.

“Darling, this is our daughter, Serena! Serena, this is your dad!”

Arbor looked disheveled and weary, his eyes bloodshot, resembling those research fellows locked up in the lab for months, squeezed nearly to death.

Serena pursed her lips. Her last ‘dad‘ was Richard, and the one before that was a scoundrel. It was hard for her to associate the word ‘dad‘ with the man on the screen.

Arbor didn’t force her to call him dad but explained carefully, “I will be home soon after finishing up the farming. If you need anything or if someone bullies you at school, have your brother step in. He’s big enough to take a few hits.”

It seemed Arbor had caught wind of some school troubles and was a bit frustrated when mentioning his son.

Serena nodded, “Mm.”

Arbor’s face softened with paternal love. Seeing the spread on the table, he swallowed hard, “Serena, be good, eat up before it gets cold.”

Serena, “Mm.”

Olivia quickly bid her husband goodbye, ending with a blown kiss towards the camera.

Thanos scoffed jealously.

After dinner, Olivia eagerly chatted on the phone with Arbor.

“…Serena called me mom, no pressure at all…”

A blatant brag.

“Serena ate the braised pork I made, not picky at all… and she gets along very well with Thanos, lovingly…”

The supposedly loving siblings, heading upstairs…

Thanos nearly tumbled down the stairs, while Serena climbed steadily.

Thanos caught up, his chin up defiantly, “You didn’t rat me out to mom, so I owe you a bubble

tea.

Serena stopped, “Two.”

Am 1. a proud young son of the Morrow family, known for being petty? Just two bubble teas.

But reaching into his pocket, his gaze shifted, realizing he might not be in a position to be generous. So he adopted a stern brotherly tone, “Are you bargaining with me?”

Serena, “You said this morning you’d treat me to one.”

Add the one for now, and that makes two.

“I’m good at math, and yes, I hold grudges.”

Thanos recalled the gruesome details, shuddered, his confidence wavering, “Fine, fine, I’ll buy it tomorrow!”

Serena’s expression was unreadable, “You’d better.”

Another threat!

The next day at noon, two bubble teas were indeed waiting on Serena’s desk.

One strawberry, one mango, the coolness spreading a refreshing chill, dispelling the heat within a three–centimeter radius.

“Serena, these are from Thanos,” Rowan said, a hint of envy in her eyes.

Serena casually handed one to Rowan.

“For me?”

Serena nodded, “Mm.”

Then Kennedy walked in, also holding a cup.

It seemed all three teas were from the same shop.

Seeing the drinks on Serena’s desk, she hesitated but approached.

“About yesterday, I apologize.”

Everyone knew by now that she had tampered with Serena’s outfit, intending to humiliate her but ended up embarrassing herself instead.

The public exposure had been utterly malicious.

Today, the way people looked at her had changed.

She held a strawberry–flavored tea, the same flavor as the one Serena kept.

While it was true that taking advantage of an opportunity was important, Serena already had one and wasn’t interested in hers.

“I have one,” she stated.

“Then let’s swap as a sign of making peace.”

I am lowering myself to make peace, and you better appreciate it.

Serena considered for a moment and agreed, “Okay.”

Just as Kennedy was about to hand over her drink, Serena swiftly took it and handed another back to Kennedy.

Kennedy, intending to toast, found Serena uninterested and sipping on her own.

Heh, a country bumpkin with no manners.

Kennedy also sipped her drink, planning to discard it after a few tastes.

Serena suddenly spoke up, “Is this all for making peace?”

Kennedy, caught off guard, resumed drinking, finishing it with a flip of the cup, “Satisfied?”

Serena didn’t respond, just continued poking at her bubble tea.

Kennedy, frustrated, returned to her seat, “Ungrateful!”

Meanwhile, Natalie returned, signaling an ‘OK‘ to Kennedy, who finally smiled.

“You’ve made up for today!”

Natalie, feeling underappreciated as yesterday wasn’t her fault, felt slighted. Wasn’t it your own doing? Even if I slipped up, it was under your pressure!

She regretted getting involved in Kennedy’s schemes and whispered, “How much did you put

in?”

Kennedy smirked, “Triple the dose.”

A triple dose of laxative would surely work fast, and once Serena found the restroom locked,
