pter 15 Kennedy’s Downfall

Kennedy was smugly pleased with herself until a sudden pain in her stomach caught her off guard.
She glanced back at Serena, who was innocently poking at her bubble tea, and a bad feeling crept up on her.
Without a second thought, she dashed to the restroom, only to find the first floor’s bathroom locked–the one she had instructed Natalie to lock.
Desperate, she ran downstairs, but those were locked too.
Catching up, Natalie realized something was wrong. “Kennedy, you didn’t just…”
“How many bathrooms did you lock?” Kennedy snapped.
Her shout almost brought something else on, but she clenched and held it in, daring not to speak further.
“The first floor! The first floor’s not locked!”
Kennedy shoved her aside and bolted for the first floor. The frantic movement accelerated her intestinal distress.
Finally reaching the first floor, she saw the restroom right in front of her–but a long line awaited.
“Why is it like this? All the upstairs restrooms are locked for maintenance. What’s there to maintain in a restroom? Did someone flush a bomb?”
“It might not be a bomb, but there was something hard–core!”
“Like what landed on Kennedy’s head yesterday?”
Everyone erupted in laughter.
Furious, Kennedy bellowed, “Out of my way!”
She tried to push through the mocking crowd, intent on reaching the restroom.
Normally, a polite request might have earned her some sympathy due to her status as the aerobics queen, but her aggressive demeanor only alienated her. Many girls from Building B, whom she had oppressed, were quite satisfied to see her struggle.
As she pushed through, one girl was shoved against the wall, pain shooting through her chest.

Angered, she pushed back. It wasn’t a hard push, maybe enough to make someone step back, bint Kennedy fell to the ground, unable to get up.
The girl was startled. “Kennedy, stop pretending. I didn’t push that hard!”
Natalie caught a whiff of something amiss but kept quiet.
As Kennedy remained on the ground, the girl grew frustrated and worried. “What’s this? Don’t tell me you broke your leg! I won’t accept that!”
When she moved to help Kennedy up, using a bit more force, an unbearable stench suddenly filled the air as Kennedy moved, causing the girls behind to cry out, “She’s soiled herself!”
The girl let go immediately, and everyone stepped back.
The restroom fell silent, needles could be heard dropping, as Kennedy sat there, overwhelmed by humiliation.
No matter how much she tried to hold back, her body’s instincts took over. Yes, she was still going, and even let out a loud fart…
The odor was so intense that the splatter could almost be seen.
Natalie quietly slipped away, while the other girls stayed silent, keeping their distance as far as possible.
Kennedy cried, and the more she sobbed, the less she could control herself.
A few girls with weaker stomachs were now vomiting into bins. The restroom felt like a scene straight out of a disaster zone.
Kennedy didn’t attend classes that afternoon, having been taken to the hospital.
Initially, there were whispers that Thanos had poisoned Serena, but since Thanos bought two drinks and Rowan, who shared one, was fine, it had to be something Kennedy ate herself.
The next day, Kennedy returned to class, covered in red blotches, visible on her neck, hands, and the exposed parts of her legs despite wearing a mask.
“Kennedy, did you overdose on laxatives? I got a rash like that when I tried them for dieting, but only one spot, not all over like you!”
That’s the power of a triple dose of laxatives, completely crushing her immune defenses.
Serena looked up, her brow furrowed. The severity meant even if it healed, scars would remain.
She didn’t feel a shred of sympathy. Casually, she pulled out a lollipop and handed it to Rowan.

Rowan immediately set aside the cookie she was nibbling and chewed on the candy her deskmate offered.
By Thursday, Kennedy hadn’t shown up at school. Shiloh announced that Kennedy was taking a medical leave to seek treatment.
Natalie seemed lost. “She should have just used one packet on Serena, but she insisted on three times the dose and drank it herself…
“Natalie, what are you talking about?”
The nearby girls turned their heads.
Panicked, Natalie blurted, “I–I didn’t say anything! You didn’t hear anything!”
She hurried away, her guilt making the truth all the more believable.
“So, it was the bubble tea? Kennedy added something to it?”
Mixing the drink and then drinking it herself–impressive!
When Serena returned from the restroom, she noticed a distinct look of fear in everyone’s
eyes.
She was just passing by, yet people held their breath and avoided her.
Three days, and Kennedy is gone? The renowned beauty and fitness queen, brought down by Serena in just three days? Serena must be toxic.
The rumor spread quickly, and by lunchtime, as Rowan walked with Serena to the cafeteria, everyone scattered.
At the food line, people behind wouldn’t follow, and those in front fled to other queues upon seeing her.
“Serena, what’s with these people?” Rowan was bewildered, having never seen such a spectacle, even when she was the one being ostracized.
They know what’s good for them.
Being feared was an effective way to avoid trouble.
“Did you hear? The Reed family didn’t reject her because she hurt Zachary, but because her birth father consulted a fortune teller who said she would curse the Reed family!”

Chapter 15 KennedyersFall
“In this day and age, who still believes in that?”

“Last Saturday, I went with my grandma to Kovex Mountain to offer prayers and saw her parents there. A fortune teller there said the same thing, and it looked like they had consulted more than once. I didn’t believe it at first, but now, look at Zachary’s leg. Celeste’s face, the Reed family losing the Wading Waters Bay project, and now Kennedy… Whoever crosses her path suffers a terrible fate.”
“That’s terrifying!”
Indigo and Solstice walked into the cafeteria hearing this.
Every line was long, but Indigo headed straight for the short queue where Serena stood.
Solstice quickly grabbed him. “Mr. Indigo, be careful! You’re our school’s basketball star!”
Indigo eyed the last two pieces of the limited–edition black pork chops. Determined, he stood in line behind Serena, Solstice reluctantly joining him.
Rowan finished her order, and it was Serena’s turn.
“Two pork chops…”
Indigo, startled…
The cafeteria lady, looking at Serena’s small frame, kindly advised, “Young lady, can you handle that?”
Indigo felt a glimmer of hope. It seemed the cafeteria lady wasn’t just shaky hands; she had other skills too.
He glanced at the pork chops, thinking he still had a chance, only to hear the girl in front say, “I’ll finish them, my dog loves these!”
Indigo, exasperated… Damn! Am I still paying for moving that table?
