pter 22 What Was Sidney Thinking?
The other students feared her, but the student council certainly did not!

Rowan tugged nervously at Serena’s sleeve, “Serena, the head of the Arts Department, Sidney, is Celeste’s best friend.”
“Oh.”
Serena wasn’t initially interested, but suddenly she felt it might be a bit fun.
She stood up and said indifferently, “Lead the way.”
The student council member scowled, thinking. Do I seem like your guide dog?
Ten minutes later, Sidney met the legendary Serena.
At first glance, she was stunned by the “thoroughly wicked” country bumpkin’s appearance.
Her black, silky hair naturally waved in a way no top stylist could achieve.
Her small, oval face was more photogenic than hers.
Her skin was fairer than hers by a shade. Her figure was tall, the perfect golden ratio. Her features were impeccable, whether seen together or apart.
All over, except for her slightly smaller bust, she was nearly flawless.
“Do you want to recruit me into the student council?”
Oh, that voice…
As someone sensitive to vocal tones, Sidney noted that Serena’s voice was rich and slightly husky but not hoarse, utterly unique.
It was like a string made just for her; as soon as she spoke, it vibrated.
Morgan, the vice president of the student council, tugged at his president and coughed lightly.
Sidney quickly suppressed her astonishment and put on her haughty queenly demeanor, lifting
her chin at her.
“To join the student council, you must pass an interview and assessment.”
Serena responded, “I don’t want to join.”

Sidney was taken aback.

Why isn’t she playing by the rules? Probably knowing about her connection with Celeste, she dared not, right? But since I’ve brought you here, it won’t be that casy to leave.
“Let’s start with the interview.”
Sidney pointed to a chair across from her.
Serena sat down.
The Arts Department’s heads and a series of officers sat above, as if interrogating a criminal.
“What talents do you have?”
Serena answered, “None.”
Is this country bumpkin deliberately opposing me?
Sidney got specific, “Can you dance?”
She’d heard this country bumpkin was good at aerobics.
Serena replied, “No.”
Sidney asked, “Can you draw?”
Serena answered, “No.”
Sidney was flustered.
“And what about musical instruments?”
Serena said, “No.”
Sidney was frustrated.
Aside from saying “no,” can you say anything else?
“Sing your best song!”
Even kids have this talent; I don’t believe you don’t.
However, Serena replied, “I don’t have one. The orphanage didn’t teach these things.”
Sidney, who intended to embarrass her, ended up embarrassing herself.

Chapter 22 What Was Sidney Thinking?
T
Isn’t the normal routine to try everything to join the student council, end up making a fool of oneself, and become a laughingstock?
What the heck is this situation?
Sidney, her eyes closed and heart steeled, made a decision, “Fine, you’re accepted!”
“Sidney! Why would you recruit someone who can’t do anything into the Arts Department? What are you thinking?”
Everyone felt insulted!
Sidney raised her hand, “Every art needs an audience, and we need an ordinary viewer. Serena is perfect for that! From now on, you all should consult her to fill the gaps in your artistry.”
The members of the Arts Department looked at each other. Sidney, are you serious?
The next second, Sidney dropped another bomb, “You don’t know anything, so none of the positions are quite right for you. How about becoming the vice minister? On par with Morgan!”
Damn it!
Morgan was almost ready to flip the table and walk out!
“This is my decision. Do you all disagree?”
Sidney’s stern glance silenced any dissent.
When she looked back at Serena, her gaze softened, “Serena, good luck! I’m about to leave the school, and the minister’s position needs a successor!”
With that, she patted Serena on the shoulder and walked away.
When the news spread, even Celeste was shocked.
“That, Sidney, are you really letting her be the vice minister?”
Sidney smiled smugly, “This is called raising someone to knock them down, and using others to do the dirty work!
“Look, everyone knows I’m about to go abroad, and they’re all eyeing the minister’s position. Can they really let a newbie country bumpkin take it?”
She was too disdainful to deal personally with such minor characters but could use others.
When the news reached Class 19, everyone was baffled.
