His Dangerous Angel
Chapter 30 The Light
Finished
As the lights came on, the scene unfolded like a brushstroke on a blank canvas, where the first hints of budding lotuses peeked through. It was a breathtaking dawn of new beginnings!
A beautiful, aloof young girl had become a deity, standing silently, spreading the seeds of hope with her clarion call.
The earlier sighs had been swallowed, and now the room was so quiet that even a feather falling could be heard.
Tears formed in the eyes of some, unnoticed by themselves.
This was the primal allure of “The Light.”
It may not have been as ornate as a violin, but it was unquestionably soul–stirring.
One could only wonder what life experiences had driven Tami to such a profound and intense longing for light. Each note, infused with soul, sparked all signs of life.
Sidney stood frozen, unable to move. Celeste was also rigid in her seat, unable to stir.
Even Morgan, who had prepared remarks to mock Serena, turned pale, all her hopes seemingly stripped away by the light, leaving her only with gloom and darkness.
When the piece ended, there was not a single clap until Serena bowed and retreated backstage. Only then did the audience come to their senses, erupting into thunderous applause.
“Serena! Oh, Serena!”
The harsher they had cursed her before, the more vigorously they cheered her now.
Serena had performed the true essence of “The Light.”
A version of “The Light” utterly different from Tami’s, more soul–shaking.
“Sidney?”
Celeste turned back to find Sidney drifting over like a lost soul, seemingly deaf to her calls, her eyes not moving for a long time.
A sudden ominous feeling surged in Celeste.
Sidney was tone–deaf, yet any good music could send her into a frenzy. Her expression was frightening.

Celeste tried to bring her back to reality, while sneakily stoking resentment against Serena.
Sidney finally snapped back to her senses.
Outside, Indigo also came to, the cigarette burning his hand. Painful.
As the performance concluded, Serena’s votes surged unstoppable.
For a moment, Morgan, who had been leading, was trampled underfoot.
At that moment, everyone at the school seemed to forget Serena’s devilish reputation. No, more accurately, with such an exceptional “The Light,” the devilish persona seemed even more appealing.
Especially to the freshmen, who were utterly enchanted.
In Class 19’s camp, there was dead silence. At that moment, everyone felt like they had eaten something terrible.
They had resisted Serena with all their malice, yet she dominated the stage on her own merit.
In the dressing room.
“Serena!”
Rowan threw herself into Serena’s arms, crying tears of joy. My new deskmate was too impressive.
Kelly, who had hoped to see Serena embarrass herself to soothe her own disappointment, was so angry she nearly smashed her custom–made crown.
“Lebron, this is Serena. Do you see?”
Olivia couldn’t wait to share the joy with her newborn in the dressing room, excitedly introducing her while sending a video to Lebron.
On the video, Lebron sat in a wheelchair, lips tightly pursed, silent in stark contrast to Olivia’s endless chatter.
“Serena really wants to see you. Won’t you consider coming home?”
Olivia coaxed.
Lebron glanced at the video of Serena playing the trumpet, then at Olivia, his lips tightening
even more.

Hearing the sound, Serena turned around, but before she could see Lebron in the video clearly, the call suddenly ended as if it was timed to her turning.
Olivia and Serena both fell into an awkward silence.
“Lebron doesn’t hate you…” Olivia tried to explain, feeling like she was only making it worse.
Seeing this, Kelly finally felt a bit better.
“If Lebron were healthy, he’d probably be in high school this term and might have attended the welcoming party. I forgot to tell him about such an important event.”
She pulled out her phone and dialed Lebron’s video call.
Lebron answered immediately.
Seeing Kelly on the screen, he hesitated for a moment, a hint of sadness flashing in his eyes.
“Kelly…”
Kelly, unaware of his distress as she observed Serena leaving, continued obliviously.
“How’s it going up in the mountains, Lebron? When will you come down? Kelly has practiced a new piece, to play for you.”
Facing her, Lebron seemed more at ease, but his gaze kept drifting to the corner of the video, to that figure in the background.
That was Serena…
Lebron’s gaze fixed on that figure, barely listening to Kelly, only occasionally humming in
response.
