When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 94

Olivia knew immediately—Madam Dorothy and Mica were scheming something against their side of the family again. Her first instinct was to pull her precious Serena tightly to her side.

Wendy was speechless.

Then Lebron also reached over and took Serena’s hand.

Thanos glanced back and scoffed, “Seriously? You’re not a kid. Still need Mommy to hold your hand?”

Wendy’s eyes fell to Serena’s wrist and noticed she wasn’t wearing the bracelet she had gifted her. A hint of disappointment flickered in her gaze.

This child was hopeless when it came to tact. Even if it was just for appearances, she should’ve worn it out of respect.

“Aunt Wendy, you’re not wearing makeup today?” Serena asked suddenly.

Bullseye.

Wendy was someone who took great pride in her appearance. Her face was always perfectly polished, not a blemish in sight. Today she had gone makeup-free, and all her spots were visible.

She immediately assumed Serena was pointing out her pigmentation, and her smile nearly cracked.

Despite being over forty and divorced, Wendy still had men chasing her all around Evervale City. Her looks mattered—a lot.

Her features were naturally beautiful, but after giving birth, she’d developed persistent melasma. Her husband’s infidelity only worsened it—her liver qi was stagnant, and the pigmentation kept spreading.

She hated anyone mentioning her spots. Normally, she wouldn’t even let people see her without makeup. It was only because her doctor had told her things were improving and advised her to wear less makeup that she dared show her bare face today.

Even though Olivia wasn’t the most sensitive person, she understood this much and quickly apologized. “Serena’s not great with words. Don’t take it to heart.”

Wendy forced a polite smile. “A little innocence isn’t a bad thing.”

It was the only redeeming quality she could find in Serena.

Serena didn’t care what others thought. And since Wendy had always treated their family kindly, Serena returned the favor.

She pulled out a bottle of candy. “Aunt Wendy, one more bottle and the spots will be gone.”

Excuse me?! The more I mind something, the more you have to bring it up?

Wendy nearly stormed out.

Olivia was stunned. “Serena, that stuff works for spots?”

Serena nodded. “It also improves skin and complexion.”

Olivia touched her own cheek. “No wonder I’ve felt like my skin’s been looking better lately.”

She immediately shoved the bottle into Wendy’s hand, looking proud. “No need to be polite with Serena.”

Wendy was speechless. Who said I was being polite?

Madam Dorothy looked shocked. A cheater is that important?

Mica shut up, clearly deflated. She didn’t want to get stuck on this, so she changed the topic. “Aren’t you guys looking to stock up on GoldCure? That’ll cost a fortune. Even if we emptied the Morrow family’s coffers, we couldn’t afford much.”

Right in front of Lebron, Mica still dropped this bait. “I spoke with Nathan. We may have found a path forward. You could get a few million dollars.”

She didn’t name a specific amount, just dangled the offer in front of Olivia like bait.

Wendy tapped Olivia’s palm—a subtle warning.

“What path?”

Only then did Kelly chime in. “It’s the Serenity Blend you gave me, Aunt Olivia. A friend of mine really liked it. They want to buy the formula. They’re offering th—”

Mica tugged her sleeve and held up one finger.

Kelly hesitated, feeling a little awkward, and revised, “They’re offering two million dollars.”

Arbor had seen through these tricks a hundred times. “It’s not someone else who wants to buy it, right? If there’s something you want, just say so.”

Kelly’s face flushed red. Mica choked on her words.

Wendy, seeing Kelly’s embarrassment, coughed softly to get Arbor’s attention.

Arbor’s tone softened a bit. “We’re family. Don’t go scheming like this.”
