The rich kids from Building B all stared at Serena with blazing eyes.
“Serena, my grandpa’s eighty. His dying wish is to see me get into a top university and bring honor to the family. Please, help me out so he can rest in peace.”
“Serena, my dream girl said if I don’t make it into the top ten, she’ll never be with me. For the sake of my eighteen years of single life, give me a chance?”
“Serena, I’m not asking for first place. Just teach me one trick to cheat into the top hundred. That’s all I ask!”
Rowan’s face turned red with anger. “Serena didn’t cheat! Stop spreading lies!”
Fuming, she grabbed Serena’s hand and dragged her away, terrified her sweet deskmate might actually stoop to the level of these spoiled trust fund brats.
On the way, she warned her in a low voice, “Don’t listen to them. If your methods get leaked, the ones trying to catch you cheating will pounce on it!”
Serena was speechless.
The kids left behind looked helplessly to Thanos for salvation.
Thanos lifted his chin with pride. “Guess where I ranked in the grade?”
Everyone went even more silent. What the hell did he have to be proud of?
A black Maybach pulled up at the school gate. Inside, Sebastian caught sight of Serena pushing a wheelchair.
“Stop the car.” He opened the door and got out without hesitation.
Noah watched helplessly as Sebastian was completely ignored. Serena clearly saw him but didn’t even greet him. She walked right past like he didn’t exist.
Sebastian was stunned.
They nearly brushed shoulders at the school entrance.
From beginning to end, Serena never even glanced his way. Sebastian frowned and stomped in frustration, but her expression didn’t change at all.
“Serena, that guy’s really hot!” Rowan twisted her neck to keep looking back from her wheelchair.
Her reaction made Serena curious. Was Sebastian really that good-looking? She turned for a quick glance. “He’s alright.”
Sebastian did look good—among the best she’d seen. But he definitely wasn’t the most handsome man she’d ever met.
She never quite understood people’s obsession with looks. At the end of the day, it was just a functional body with organs. Being prettier didn’t mean having extra eyes or noses. Flashy packaging didn’t change the product inside.
Kelly straightened up, confidence surging. That office had been built for her. No one knew more about it than she did.
“The school nurse’s office is that way. I’ll take you.” Her demeanor was poised, the picture of refinement and composure.
Other students were green with envy. With a guy that gorgeous, most girls would’ve been blushing and stammering just to speak. Kelly handled it like a seasoned socialite.
Peyton practically bounced in place. “Kelly’s got it all. Even guys like that come up to talk to her! No wonder she’s the queen of Haven High!”
The school’s goddess title wasn’t just for show. Looks, grades, family background—she had it all. Who could compete?
Then she turned to Serena with a sneer. “Some people, besides their face, have absolutely nothing going for them. And they still had the nerve to make it into the Advanced Research Team? What a joke.”
Sebastian seemed ready to follow Kelly toward the office… but suddenly changed direction.
Rowan clenched her fists, furious and ready to explode—until she realized he was walking toward them.
Even Peyton, with her back to him, could feel the pressure in the air. She spun around and was stunned by the strikingly handsome face approaching them.
Her heart skipped a beat. “Sir… are you looking for me?”
