Chapter 222 –
Chapter 222
Luna Demetra.
Wren makes a creak in the wood and instantly ducks like something was supposed to fall on her head because of that. I hold the sniper barrel in my hands and face it to the ground because I’m afraid that I may end up shooting at someone I’m not supposed to.
Tiffany stays exactly where she is and exhales slowly before we keep moving.
The torch attachment on the sniper is our light source….a thin beam cutting through the tree coverage as we walk. The moonlight does the rest and I’m genuinely grateful it’s not a full moon. A full moon in Coast Six woods would mean every wolf that calls this territory home is active, awake and in their element. The kinds written in books and the kinds the books haven’t gotten to yet.
“But where exactly are we searching?” Tiffany asks.
“We’re just gonna walk in a straight line so we know how to return back to the car.” I say and drop my arm for a minute. Shit, this thing is heavy.
“Okay.” Wren’s voice trembles. “Why don’t we talk about something at least so I’m not freaking out throughout.”
“Great idea.” Tiffany perks up. “Slade hired new Gammas recently, and there’s a particular one called Aaron…”
She says just that sentence and I look back at her.
“Don’t tell me you’re sleeping with him?”
She blinks.
“You’re sleeping with him!?” I say it but it’s not really a question as I walk back to her. “Slade is gonna skin you alive-”
“Well, you’re not gonna tell him!”
“Tiffany.” I stop. “When was he hired?”
“I don’t know…a month back.”
“So you’ve only known him for a month and
“And nothing!” Tiffany throws her hands up. “I’m not spilling my secrets anymore.
“And nothing! I’m not sharing any more details.” She moves to the front of the line and starts walking faster.

Chapter 222-
Dun i walk fast, you don’t know what you’re walking into-“I go after her, trying to pick up Emriss scent at the same time because that’s the actual reason we’re here and I keep getting distracted. My arm is already hurting from the sniper weight. All that’s in the air is green grass and dew and a bit of mud and damn insects.
Something hits my neck. I feel it latch and I slap myself. The girls both junip at the movement. throws both arms into the air and starts running and screaming simultaneously.
“What! What!” I ask.
“I think I hit a bee house!” Wren yells again.
I start to hear very loud buzzing and what rises in front of me and Tiffany is literally the biggest, hairiest, largest bee I’ve ever seen in my life with red, glowing eyes!
We start running off. Bees and wolves do not mix. Wolves hate bees. Our system hates its venom and its sting. Talk about wolf hierarchy, there is no time a wolf wins against red venom bees…..you simply leave the area as fast as your legs allow and you do not look back.
I am dragging the sniper with me, trying to run because it’s heavy, but Tiffany is running faster in front of me.
All of a sudden, I lose sight of the girls but I also realize I can’t hear the buzzing of the bees anymore. I stop to catch my breath and let go of the sniper so it falls into the grass.
The… grass!?
I look around me at once and realize we’ve gotten out of the trail we were supposed to be in. We were all supposed to walk in a straight line so that we would be able to find our way back. On the trail, it was mud, dried tree crunch, and tree barks. But here, it’s fresh green grass covering my foot.
I look around me for the first trail that will take me back to where we were.
I think about that, and I can’t seem to wrap my head around it so I just get my phone out. But of course, there’s no damn signal. I’m putting the phone back when I hear cackling. Not one voice, not
and
see four two, but several overlapping, coming from directly in front of me. I lift my eyes wolves.
Standing in the space between the trees, looking at me with the attention of people who are very comfortable in this location and find my presence there entertaining. The one at the front has hair dyed in a leopard print pattern.
It’s dyed to be a replica of what a leopard’s fur looks like.
Rogues. It’s only rogues that try to imitate other animals so they can be more intimidating. It’s not far–fetched that rogues are here anyway.
“You got lost, pretty angel

Pie wolf in them but tall. He is lanky in a way that’s quite annoying which tells me they are going to piss me off of really claw me. Also, he’s holding an energy drink like he lives here. Because he probably does
Which means they know this place better than I already do.
“No Im fime I answer
I look at my sniper that’s on the ground, wondering if I can take it before they come toward me.
“You don’t look rogue One with purple hair says, coming forward with his hand in his pocket and one half of his hair covering his eyes. “So what are you doing in rogue land-
“West Virginia is not rogue land!”
“Well The lanky one takes a sip of his energy drink. “The Black Covenant Alpha is said to be dead. So we’re back in the city.
“What
raise my voice, and they all look at me together.
“Don’t tell me you’re one of those she–wolves that crush on him?” The leopard–haired one snarls. “That wolf put us in lockdown before he even took the Alpha seat. Couldn’t even go to the club… he’ll always be there to fucking beat us. Mr show up and make an example of someone. Then he becomes Alpha and starts working with the government to make sure we don’t have a single inch of space in this state–”
