Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change? novel Chapter 1297

It had been a while since she'd heard from Sylvia. Sherilyn felt a mix of surprise and concern. "Grandma, are you doing okay? Is your health alright?"

"Yes, yes, I'm doing very well," Sylvia's voice came through, cheerful and energetic. It didn't sound like anything was wrong. "Sherilyn, dear, when do you have some time to come visit me? Your grandma misses you."

"Oh, of course," Sherilyn said, feeling a pang of guilt. "I'm sorry, I've been neglectful and haven't come to see you lately."

"It's alright, dear, I know you're busy," Sylvia said, her tone forgiving. "So it's a date, then. Grandma will be waiting for you."

"Okay, Grandma. Goodbye."

After hanging up, Sherilyn was lost in thought. Why did Grandma want to see her? She had a feeling she knew what it might be about.

A week later, after finishing her tour, she returned to Sunhaven. After settling back into her home on Starfall Drive, she immediately called Sylvia.

"Grandma, I'm back in Sunhaven. Is it a good time for me to come over now?"

"Yes, of course! Come quickly, dear, I'm waiting for you."

Sherilyn freshened up and headed straight to see the old woman. Sylvia Johnson was still residing at the Southern Hills Sanatorium. When Sherilyn arrived, Sylvia had already prepared tea and snacks, clearly having been waiting for her.

"Sherilyn, come, sit down."

"Grandma." Sherilyn sat down as she was told. She glanced at the table and saw brownies, her favorite pastry. A small smile spread across her face. "Grandma, is there something you wanted to talk about?"

"Clever girl," Sylvia said with a smile, taking her hand. "I called you here because I wanted to ask you... what do you think of Rebecca White?"
