Wrong Bride True Luna (Amelia and Logan) novel Chapter 25

CHAPTER 25

Amelia

Suck between a rock and a hard place with Logan and Ethan, I find myself sitting at the large oak table in the packhouse’s dining room.

The atmosphere is tense as it is, but the two men sitting across from each other, glaring daggers at each other, doesn’t help the situation at all.

“Serve us as usual, no need for special treatment Ethan tells a servant that approaches him, flashing her a smile that lights up his entire face

I glance at Logan and instantly notice the sour look on his face. Now, more than ever, it’s noticeable how much he hates not being treated like someone special.

Logan probably assumed that since he’s a guest, now everyone will break and bend just to please him, but Ethan has no such plans.

Once the food is brought up, Ethan and I eat in silence, but Logan makes no move to even touch the fork next to his hand. I glance up just as an ugly sneer twists his face. “What is the meaning of this?” He growls.

Both Ethan and I look at Logan just as he starts going off about the food. “This doesn’t look edible,” he complains even without touching the mouth-watering steak and roasted potatoes on his plate. Logan suddenly grabs the fork and pushes the food around the plate before he adds, “I don’t like broccoli. I don’t enjoy potatoes either and the meat has too much spices on it.”

The longer he rants, the more vivid the memories about my life back in Logan’s pack become.

I remember when he used to complain about the food Omegas served him. Ever since I’ve known him, Logan has always been a picky eater.

After the wedding, when I moved into his house, he would constantly complain to Omegas about what he didn’t like about the meals. Once, He had only water for dinner, so after that time, I started preparing his every meal, but Logan always took it for granted.

I didn’t hear even a single “thank you” or “the meal was lovely”. All I got were some nonchalant grunts, but he always finished his meals and back then, that was all that mattered for me.

“This is bad,” Logan’s loud voice pulls me out of my thoughts. I blink and look at Logan who’s looking at the plate like it just hurt his feelings. I can’t eat this.”

“You can always return back to your pack, if our food is not up to your liking, your majesty,’ Ethan sneers at Logan, emphasizing the last part with hostility.

“I’m not going anywhere!” Logan claps back. “Just because you’re too incompetent to know how to treat your guests doesn’t mean I’ll give up and leave without a chance to have a proper

talk with Amelia.”

A nasty laugh leaves Ethan, a tone I’ve never heard him use before. “Well, stop being a big baby then. I, for one, don’t want to listen to you complain about food all the time while I’m trying to have a nice dinner and I’m sure Amelia isn’t enjoying it either. You’re ruining the dinner.”

Just as Logan opens his mouth to retort, I have enough. I slam my hand against the table and glare at Logan. “Enough arguments and complaints. Just tell me what you wanted to talk about and be done with it!”

To my surprise, Logan looks taken aback by my reaction. He’s acting as if he hadn’t noticed I’ve grown a new, shiny backbone ever since I left his pack.

Logan clears his throat and straightens his posture. “I wanted to have a private conversation, but since Alpha Ethan insists he has to be here, I suppose I can speak freely. I wanted to apologize to you, Amelia.”

My eyes widen twice the size and my jaw drops. I must have misheard him, there’s no way Logan is apologizing-he never does.

The corner of his mouth twitches and since I have no other reaction but the shock, Logan keeps talking. “I never wanted you to leave the pack. What I said was just… It was something I said in the heat of the moment. Telling you to leave Ravencrest was a mistake, I truly didn’t

mean what I said.”

Logan reaches over the table for my hand and once his fingers barely graze my skin, a spark shoots up my entire arm. His fingers wrap around my hand, but I’m too stunned by the sudden, unexpected sensation to speak.

“Don’t touch her!” Ethan suddenly roars so loud, the windows rattle in the frames

His reaction alone is enough to snap me back to my senses. Standing up, I speak up to possible fight before it happens.

I turn to Ethan and flash him an apologetic smile. “Give us some privacy, please. There some unfinished business between me and Alpha Logan, I’d rather get over it sooner tha later. I promise to find you once we’re done, okay?”

Ethan’s gaze softens, but I see the hesitation in his eyes as he looks between me and Logan.

Eventually, he agrees, “I’ll make sure there are some of my guards nearby to ensure you’re safe at all times.” He announces, using a tone that leaves no argument, then approaches me to pull me in a quick hug.

The moment Ethan’s arms wrap around me and he pulls me against his chest, Logan growls.

I ignore Logan’s behavior, hug Ethan and whisper, “thank you for being so understanding.”
