You Wed Your Past I Wed My Future novel Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Stephanie burst out laughing. How could Tylef have the nerve to say that when he and Kiara had already secretly registered their marriage?

Her laughter made Tyler’s expression grow even more awkward. He knew he’d gotten a little carried away lately, but how could he help it?

Kiara had finally returned to the country and was now able to stay by his side for a long time. He was genuinely happy about that.

Besides, in his eyes, Stephanie was easily coaxed and deceived. He hadn’t expected her to get angry enough to demand a divorce. Still, it didn’t matter. She was just saying it out of anger.

Just then, a waiter walked over carrying a huge bouquet. “The flowers you ordered have arrived, Mr. Grover.”

Taking the bouquet, Tyler got up and walked over to Stephanie’s side before handing the bouquet to her personally.

“Don’t be mad anymore, Steph. Let’s just move on from this, okay?”

He held the giant bunch of red roses in front of Stephanie, and it reminded her of something. He’d had the same bouquet of red roses with him when he confessed his feelings to her back

then.

At the time, his gaze had been so bright. It felt like she was the only person in his heart.

How could someone be so fake?

It nauseated her.

“Steph?”

Tyler stood there holding the flowers for what felt like forever, but she never reached out to take them.

Right then, his phone rang. He had no choice but to set the bouquet down and take the call.

“Mom? You came over? Steph and I are out having dinner… Yeah, okay. We’ll head back right away.”

After ending the call, Tyler said to Stephanie, “My mom’s here. She’s at the house, and she wants us to come back as soon as possible.”

Tyler’s mother, Martha Alston, stayed at Grover Manor, which was some distance away from the city center. She would drop by the house now and then to visit them.

Stephanie was just about to say something when Tyler spoke up first. “Steph, no matter what disagreements we have, we shouldn’t let my mom worry about us. As you know, she’s not in good health.”

“You can head back yourself then,” Stephanie said.

“My mom mentioned you on the call just now: She’d be so disappointed if you don’t come home with me.”

His words gave Stephanie pause.

Martha had always treated her well. Stephanie had lost her own mother at a young age, and the kind and friendly Martha gave her a sense of warmth.

Plus, if Martha ever found out that Tyler and Kiara had that sort of relationship… she would probably feel quite upset. She was indeed in poor health, and Stephanie didn’t want her to be put through too much emotional distress.

“Let’s go,” she said.

Once Stephanie stopped refusing him, Tyler began smiling smugly. He was certain that her anger was starting to subside.

He knew she would definitely reconcile with him so long as he spared a tiny bit of effort on coaxing her.
