“Drive. Onward to Imperial City River.”
When Queena heard Zion mention that they were heading to Imperial City River, she stared at Zion with a panicked look as she said, “What are we doing at Imperial City River? Release me! I’m telling you, Heaton Fudd, you can’t kidnap me! I want to return to the Quain household! I can call the cops to have you arrested!”
Zion grinned and glanced at her. He said mockingly, “There’s no need for you to call the cops, I will bring you personally to the police station tonight.”
“What exactly are you planning to do?!”
“You’ve had someone commit arson for you back then. I am going to send you to the police station and you will surrender yourself to the cops.”
Queena chuckled despite her fear, “You said that I sent people to commit arson? Heaton! You can’t accuse me like this! I will look for the best lawyer to fight against you in court!”
“Save your strength. It’s better for you to pray right now that you will be safe and well.”
Queena began to tremble in fear. “What are you going to do?! You can’t act so rashly, Heaton! If anything happens to me, you’d be in trouble with the Quain family!”
Zion once again duct taped her mouth. He leaned against his seat, closed his eyes and took a short rest.
They arrived at the Imperial City River after half an hour.
A heavy snowfall was raging outside. Thick layers of ice had formed on the riverbanks of the Imperial City River due to the recent continuous snowfall.
Kush turned to look at Zion from the driver’s seat. He said, “Boss?”
Zion opened his eyes and got out of the car.
A few bodyguards dressed in black suits got out of the other car that was following from behind. They opened the door to the Maybach and dragged Queena who was completely bound out of the car.
Queena cried out, “Mhmmm.”
Kush asked, “What happens next, boss…”
“Toss her into the river. Only allow her to come up once she confesses.”
Under the pale snowy night, white snowflakes fell onto Zion’s hair, brows and shoulders… His entire body was emanating an extremely cold aura. It felt hellishly menacing.
Kush gestured and two of the bodyguards grabbed onto Queena and immediately tossed her into the river.
“Huuu…”
Zion approached her and slowly squatted down in front of her. He reached out and ripped the duct tape off her mouth.
Queena’s teeth were trembling from the cold. She exclaimed, “Ah… it’s cold! Heaton, I’m begging you… I truly can't take any more of this!”
Zion calmly stared at her as he questioned her, “Why did you have someone commit the arson back then?”
“Because… because Verian happens to be Grayson’s biological daughter… I, only through her death… my daughter and I can inherit all of Grayson’s inheritance…”
Queena stuttered through the cold as she made that statement.
Zion got up as Queena yelled and pleaded, “Heaton, you have them pull me out now! I will freeze to death! Aren’t you afraid of the Quain family… bringing you trouble!”
Zion turned around and spoke in an emotionless tone, “Let her soak for another half hour.”
Kush nodded and said, “Yes, boss.”
Zion got in the car and drove the Maybach away from the Imperial City River.
…
When Zion returned to the Shallow Bay Mansion, Verian was already awake and she was looking all over for him.
“Zion? Zion…”
Verian was extremely frantic and was worried that Zion might disappear or get lost.
When she ran downstairs and was just about to head out to look for him, she bumped right into him.
Verian could smell the scent of brisk cold snow entering from outside.
Zion was completely covered in snow as he came back in.
Verian looked up and asked, “Where’d you wander off to this late at night? Did you know how worried I was?”
