Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 289

Jane hid in her room while frantically packing her things away. Sarah entered swiftly.

“Are you done packing, Jane? Take this plane ticket and leave!”

Both of Jane’s eyes were red. She seemed shocked and crossed, “Mom… I don’t want to leave…”

“With the way things are right now, even if you don’t want to, you still have to. I am worried that Heaton and them had already reported that to the cops and the cops will soon drop by and have you brought in for questioning. Hurry up and leave, come back when there’s less heat here.”

Sarah was about to send Jane off but they were stopped by James who was standing at the door with his walking stick.

“What are you guys doing?”

Sarah was struck with guilt initially but she soon scoffed and spoke in a confident tone, “What’s the matter? Want to personally send your daughter to jail? James Fudd, I’ve done so much for the family in my lifetime and I don’t owe you anything. It was you, you who had always owed both me and Jane everything and yet, you want to bring Jane into justice for Verian’s sake?”

James clutched hard onto his walking stick while taking a stern deep glance at Jane. Sarah then instinctively shielded her own daughter behind her.

James sighed and said, “Jane, how can you be so foolish! Verian is your…”

Sarah somehow knew what he was about to say and immediately interjected him. She said, “James Fudd, save your words. Are you willing to spare Jane or not?”

James raised his brows and said, “Jane is a twenty-four-year-old woman. She is an adult and she should be responsible for the things she did.”

Sarah’s eyes trembled violently and said, “What, what do you mean?”

“The cops will be here soon and they will bring Jane in for questioning.”

Sarah glared at John coldly and said, “Hmph, John, you are actually capable of turning your back on family for Verian! You actually informed the cops…”

“I didn’t inform the cops.”

Then, it should be Heaton, right?

It did not matter who was the one to inform the cops since James did not seem to intend on defending the mother and daughter duo.
