Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 447

When Wilson's countdown reached one, Ruby heard the gun cocked.

"Wilson Jarret! Have you gone mad for Serene Ludd's sake? I am your partner!"

"I thought you knew that I'm mad."

The man's expression looked cold, but his voice was colder. There was no emotion in his eyes, so she could not tell his actual feelings.

Ruby knew that she was forced into a corner, so she took a deep breath and said, "Fine, I'll sign it! But before I do that, I have a question for you."

"If you had signed it earlier, I wouldn't have to go this far. I don't like threatening my partners!"

Ruby rolled her eyes at him. How could he say that when he had just threatened him!

"Why Serene? Why not me? Don't say that I am not comparable to her. I refuse to acknowledge that!"

Ruby remained arrogant even though there was a gun pointed at her head.

Wilson only said, "Because I only have room for her."

There was only one Serene in the world.

Ruby smiled and chuckled mockingly. Wilson did not leave her any room for discussion. She had asked him the same question, and he told her that she was incomparable to Serene; she was not worthy when compared to Serene. That was the second time she asked him that question. It seemed like his heart belonged to Serene; he would always take her side.

"You don't even try to comfort me. Aren't you afraid that I'd take it back?"

"Ruby Rue, if you wanted comfort, you wouldn't be single right now."

Ruby was speechless. However, the smile on her face grew wider as she said, "Wilson Jarret, have anyone told you that you could be so mean?"

Wilson placed the divorce papers on the hood of his car and handed her a black pen. "Sign it. I don't want to keep this gun pointed on your head."

Ruby was speechless.

Ruby took the pen, but she paused as she hovered above the signature line. The pen did not touch the paper.

"I heard that your gastric pain is back. How did that happen? You're always so careful with your diet."

"It doesn't concern you."

Ruby nodded. Sure, it did not have anything to do with her, but she refused to believe that he would get a happy ending with Serene. She knew that Serene would be terrified when she learned about Wilson's complicated life. She knew that he would be depressed when he realized how much sorrow he had caused her.

Ruby signed her name in a lackluster manner.

Then she mocked him. "I'm sure our master would be shocked if he knew about how you pointed a gun to my head."

Wilson took the divorce papers, opened the door, and tossed it in his car. He told Ruby in a cold tone, "I will have someone send you the divorce agreement."

It seemed like he wanted to cut off all ties to her. He would not want to see her again after she had signed the paper.

Ruby was calm, but she was furious. She grabbed a water bottle from her car and threw it at Wilson's vehicle as he drove away.

Wilson heard the impact, but he grinned as he glanced at the divorce papers.

Serene slept until the wee hours in the morning; she fell off the bed when she flipped over.

Wilson heard a loud thud the moment he entered the house with the divorce papers. He frowned before he strode into the bedroom.

Serene had a habit of falling off her bed ever since she was a child. It seemed like she had hurt herself quite seriously; she reeled in pain as she touched her forehead.

Wilson immediately helped her up as he lectured her softly. "How can you still fall off the bed at your age?"

Serene rubbed her forehead as she squealed, "Ouch…"

"Let me see."

Wilson pulled her hand away and noticed her forehead was reddish. He gently blew on it with his thin lips.

Serene nervously lowered her gaze onto his Adam's apple and neckline. She noticed he had his jacket and a pair of boots on. He seemed like he had just returned from somewhere.
