Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 472

The next morning, Helen received a party invitation from her secondary school classmate while they were having breakfast. The party was organized by her class monitor and would be held that day at noon.

Helen had never kept in touch with her secondary school friends. She did not want to go but someone had mentioned about her in that group.

Helen was munching on her steamed bun while reading the group chat. Some random guy who loved watching movies mentioned her in a message.

[Helen, are you coming? Any of you remember that time when Helen mistakenly thought that Colin had a crush on her? She created such a scene back then.]

Another person replied. [Yes. That incident left quite an impression on me. Joseph is married to Chanel now. I wonder how Helen is doing.]

They were talking as though Helen still had a thing for Joseph. Helen felt embarrassed.

They were young back then, so they did not know anything about love and relationships. It was merely puppy love. She was married now and had already found somebody she loved. She would not have even remembered Joseph if those people did not mention his name.

Helen chewed on her steamed bun angrily. Frustration began to creep inside of her.

Carter was eating his porridge when he realized his wife who was sitting opposite him was staring at her phone with a strange look on her face. He frowned slightly. “What are you looking at?”

“Oh… Nothing much. My secondary school classmates are planning to have lunch together.”

Carter thought she wanted to go so he asked, “What time in the afternoon? Shall I give you a ride?”

“Huh? I haven’t decided whether I want to go or not. I’m not really close to them.”

After she was done talking, Helen’s gaze fell onto the group chat yet again.

Those people were still talking about her. Some even popped up and said, “Come on, guys. Helen’s been married a long time ago. Her husband is quite good looking. I bumped into Helen and her husband who were stocking up goods last year when I was out shopping with a friend during Chinese New Year. Her husband is way more handsome than Joseph.”

Helen’s lips curled upward. Everybody had pride and a woman’s pride was none other than their other half.

It was true that Carter was far more handsome than Joseph. Joseph was no match compared to her husband. It was impossible that she would still be interested in him like a fool.

She would be attracted to Carter no matter where he went.

Carter raised his eyebrows. It was weird seeing his wife have mood swings.

“Mrs. Gale?”

“Yes?” Helen came back to her senses.

“What are you thinking about? The porridge is getting cold soon, so you should hurry up and finish it.”

Helen cupped her bowl and ate her porridge. After a few sips, her phone buzzed again.

“You guys should stop teasing Helen. She’s too embarrassed to reply now.”

Helen almost choked on her porridge. She coughed, her face flushed.

Carter walked over to her and patted her back as he frowned. “What are you doing?”

Helen calmed down, licked her lips and said, “Honey, I might have to attend the gathering this afternoon.”

If she did not show up, the more those people would think that she was avoiding Joseph and still had a thing for him.

However, it was really just puppy love back then. She felt nothing for Joseph now.

Moreover, so much time had passed and it was just an insignificant memory from her heyday. There was no need to dwell on the past.

Carter nodded his head. He was not surprised. “Alright, I’ll give you a ride.”

Helen put her arms around her husband’s waist. “Alright. Thank you, honey.”

Tyler was playing with the rice in his bowl as his eyes widened and he asked curiously, “Mum, will there be any good food in your gathering? Do you mind bringing me along?”

Helen thought that it would not be a bad idea to bring her son along. She could show those people who thought she still had a thing for Joseph that her son was already three years old.

“My son, do you want to follow me?”

“Yes! Mum, bring me along. I’ll go and eat your money’s worth there.”
