The Gale mansion.
Old Master Gale was sitting solemnly at the head of the dining table. The atmosphere was as cold as ice.
Uncle Mike had been working with the Gale family for years, so it was not his first time experiencing such tension in the house. However, things must have been really bad if the Old Master kept such a straight face like that the moment the Young Master came home.
Uncle Mike tried to ease the tension. “Old Master, Young Master has just returned home and it seems that he had a tough time out there. Look at him, he’s become much thinner than before. Old Master, why not let Young Master have his meal first before you guys talk…”
Carter jumped up as soon as Uncle Mike finished his words. He said emotionlessly, “I’m not hungry. You guys can go ahead and enjoy your meal.”
Carter did not care about the people at the table at all. He strode upstairs and headed straight to his bedroom.
Old Master Gale was infuriated. “Look at him! He’s been bumming around outside for three years and now he’s giving me an attitude as soon as he gets back. Am I indebted to him?”
“Old Master, please calm down. You know Young Master’s temper very well.”
Old Master Gale let out a sigh, his gaze falling on Tina who was still sitting at the table.
Tina was very alert. She got up immediately and said, “Uncle, I’ll go check up on Carter.”
Old Master Gale simply replied with a faint hum.
Uncle Mike frowned after Tina went upstairs. “Old Master, it seems like Young Master no longer has any feelings for Tina. Are we just trying to match him up with the wrong person?”
Old Master Gale said coldly, “He’s been acting up since years back just because of all the nonsense that happened. I’ve already taken a step back and even found Tina for him. What else does he want? He should give me some face.”
Uncle Mike could not hold back his laughter. “Yes, yes. Of course, he should give his father some face. However, both father and son shouldn’t always be butting heads with each other. Young Master is young and impulsive so you should go easy on him.”
“Do you think Carter is still young? He’s already in his thirties and yet, he’s still caught up in his love affairs. He threw a tantrum and left home because of Tina back then. What a filial son. I brought Tina back to him this time. If he still wants to act up then I’ll really kill him.”
Uncle Mike laughed and comforted him, “Old master, you can’t put it that way. After all, Young Master is still a young man. He must be willing to share the company burden with you since he chose to come back this time.”
“Would I be so worried if he actually did put more time and effort into our company? That brat is better than me in doing business but he’s a fool at times. He needs someone to knock some sense into him. Otherwise, he will just give up everything for a girl.”
“Yes, yes. You should definitely knock some sense into him.”
The Old Master’s old yet sharp eyes flashed as he asked, “By the way, what’s with that woman he married in North City?”
“Her name is Helen and she’s just an ordinary salary worker. She and Young Master have been married for three years and both of them…have a son.”
Old Master Gale frowned deeply. “What did you say? That brat even had a kid?”
“Yes, Old Master.”
He pursed his lips. After pondering for a few moments, he said, “This won’t do. The Gale bloodline cannot be left out there. Send someone to bring the kid to the capital and don’t let the Young Master know about this for now.”
“Alright, Old Master. However, there’s still the Young Master’s wife…”
“Let her sign the divorce papers, give her some money, and ask her to stay away from Carter. This brat even married a random girl in a spur of the moment!”
Uncle Mike thought it was somewhat inappropriate to do that. After all, they had been married for three years. Carter was not a tolerant man. He must have had feelings for that woman if he could stay with her for three years. On top of that, they even bore a child together. Would it not be inappropriate to do that?
However, Old Mike had no guts to speak up as he was afraid he would provoke the Old Master.
