Tina was furious after Carter chased her out of his room.

Carter took a glance at his phone and frowned. It seemed like his phone had been tampered.

He checked his call history but there were no recent calls.

He then opened his social media account and saw some unread messages from Helen.

He did not get the chance to reply to her yet as he had a lot of things to handle since he returning home.

Carter’s lips twitched and he called Helen.

Helene did not pick up the call immediately when Carter called. Instead, she glared at the caller ID.

How dare that f*cking man call her?

Helen was seething as she picked up the phone. She restrained her urge to immediately lash out at him.

The man spoke in his usual hoarse yet gentle voice, “Honey, did you get off work already? I’ve been pretty busy with work lately so I forgot to text you back.”

Helen was speechless.

Was he busy with work or busy going on dates with his mistress?

Helen’s chest felt like it was burning as her anger rose!

Carter frowned as Helen kept quiet. “Honey, are you alright? Why are you not talking?”

Helen roared at him as soon as she started to speak. “Carter Gale!”

“What’s wrong, Mrs. Gale?”

“When did you have a girlfriend? I’m your wife! How could I not have known about this?”

Carter stunned and his eyes darkened. “What girlfriend are you talking about? I don’t have a girlfriend, you’re my only woman.”

“Liar! If that’s the case, who was that woman who picked up your phone earlier? She said she was your girlfriend!”

It was then that Carter understood. It must have been Tina!

Carter gritted his teeth and comforted his wife. “Honey, it’s a misunderstanding. I didn’t know that woman picked up my call earlier. I’ve already chased her out of my room!”

“You’re lying to me! You even let her into your room! Stop denying it!”

“Honey, I was in the shower earlier! I didn’t know that she was in my room!”

Helen bit her lips. “Carter Gale, you’d better come home tomorrow! Or else…don’t ever think about seeing me again!”

Having that said, Helen hung up.

Carter pinched his brows. Holding onto his phone, he strode out of his room and walked downstairs.

“Tina Lane!”

Tina was sitting at the living room downstairs, cutting fruits for Old Master Gale. Slightly taken aback, she turned around and smiled at Carter as she said, “Carter, what’s wrong? Why are you so angry?”

Carter’s expression was cold and dark. “Who allowed you to answer my phone?”

“I… I didn’t.”

“Tina Lane, try playing tricks one more time and I’ll never let you get away with it!”

The Old Master’s face turned purple with rage. “Carter Gale! Why are you making a fuss immediately after coming home?”

Carter shot a violent glare at Tina. Ignoring them, he turned around and walked upstairs.

Carter called Helen a few times but she did not answer any of his calls. It was obvious she was angry.

Because of that, he could only text her.

[Honey, I’m really busy with work these few days. I won’t be able to return to North City so soon. Can you give me two more days?]
