An obedient woman…
Ruby felt a wave of disgust run through her.
'F*ck his so-called obedience!'
Thompson drove them back to Ruby's Mount Hope Mansion.
Ruby sat on the passenger seat and felt increasingly irritable as she recalled what Blaine had said. She opened the car window, and the breeze blew on her face; her anxious and frustrated mood improved.
Thompson made fun of her when he saw that she looked like a child with ADHD. "Ruby, I've been your partner so many years, but I've never seen you so irritated because of an opponent. Have you fallen for Blaine after your one night stand with him?"
"You're an *sshole!"
Her face blushed in anger, and she almost went out of control. Every sign indicated that Frost Blade had an unusual influence over Ruby.
"Did you reach an agreement with Frost Blade? You asked me not to disturb your discussion, so I didn't go out."
Ruby humphed softly. "Consider it done."
A wave of surprise flashed through Thompson's eyes. "What did you offer him? How did he answer so pleasantly?"
Ruby glanced at Thompson. Frost Blade had been challenging to handle, but Thompson considered that as an amicable agreement?
"If you know what I've sacrificed…" Ruby stopped speaking and swallowed her words just as she wanted to tell him.
However, she could not tell anybody about such a shameful matter! Otherwise, how would she continue to survive in that same social circle?
Thompson's eyes brightened, and stared at her mischievously. He asked, "Did you sacrifice your beauty?"
"Impossible!" Ruby knew that she had overreacted. She gulped and said, "I only promised him that after we've gotten rid of Stephen, Wilson will represent the organization to get Z country to sign a 100-year peace treaty with R country."
The condition was seductive and sincere enough that Thompson did not doubt it.
"That man has a big appetite. However, it doesn't make any sense. You ran after him, but he did not take advantage of you? What a gentleman!"
Gentleman?
If Frost Blade were a gentleman, there were no bad guys in the world.
Ruby pursed her red lips, and her tone was unkind. "Does it look like it's easy to bully me?"
Thompson shrugged. "Not at all."
…
On a helicopter on the way to R country.
Old K asked, "Leader, are we really allying with those people to get rid of Stephen?"
