After Wilson and Serene picked Ruby up from North City Airport, the atmosphere in the car felt tense.
Serene had a bad feeling through the atmosphere, she secretly took a glance at Ruby through the rearview mirror and cautiously asked, “Why’d you come to North City so suddenly?”
“What’s the matter? Am I unwelcome?”
Her reply was blunt.
Serene bit her tongue and immediately lied, “Of course you’re welcome! Our child misses you!”
‘No. No, he doesn’t.’
Ruby played along and intentionally said, “Oh? Since the child misses me then I’ll be staying in your mansion for a few days. You won’t mind, right, Serene?”
Serene replied, “Um… No, I won’t but Wilson might.”
Ruby raised her brows and said, “Why would Wilson mind?”
Wilson took a glance at his wife who was desperately trying to hint something at him as he said, “It’s completely fine. However, you’ll need to tell me what you are doing in North CIty. If I remember correctly, your hundred days agreement with Blaine isn’t over yet so how could he possibly let you go so easily?”
Ruby’s expression dimmed the moment he brought that up. She exclaimed, “Wilson, I need to ask you something.”
“What is it?”
“I actually knew Blaine ten years ago, didn’t I?”
A look of shock flashed across Wilson’s eyes. However, he did not seem too surprised since it was only a matter of time for her to find out the truth after reuniting with Blaine. He completely expected this.
“Yeah,” Wilson bluntly replied.
Without beating around the bush, Ruby probed further, “Who was responsible for sealing away my memories about Blaine?”
Wilson did not avoid the question as he answered honestly, “Joan.”
“Were you and Thompson involved in any of this?”
“We were. I supported the decision for Joan to seal away your memories about Blaine.”
