Feelings of rage and confusion were mixed together.
Yaakov could not be bothered by Ruby's resistance since her resistance only aroused him even more.
Although the man was still in a drunken daze, he was still more skilled than Ruby. It did not take long for him to subdue Ruby once again.
Just as the man was about to approach her, Ruby grabbed a green ceramic vase next to her and immediately smashed it on Yaakov's head.
'Smash!'
The ceramic vase was immediately shattered into pieces as soon as it made contact with Yaakov's head.
Yaakov was a little dazed as he stood there while fresh blood trickled down slowly from his head onto his forehead then onto his eyelids.
Yaakov chuckled mockingly as he dared not even lift a finger at the woman because she happened to be extremely important to a certain person. So much so that the person would risk his own life for hers.
Ruby was not afraid nor was there any signs of hesitation from her as she picked up a knife beside her and immediately held it against the man's neck.
"Get me out of here, right now!"
"What if I refuse?"
The sharp edge of the knife inched closer to Yaakov's neck and sliced into the man's flesh.
Ruby's voice sounded cold and ruthless as she warned him while glaring at him, "You can always try."
"You love Blaine this much?"
"My love for Blaine is one thing but the thing that bothers me the most is I absolutely hate being held against my will in a cage!"
Yaakov took a deep breath while his gaze dimmed as he said, "Have you really not thought about me even once in all these years, Rubes?"
The way Yaakov looked at Ruby felt sincerely charming.
Ruby did not intend to give any hope to the man since she knew that the both of them would never have a future together. Even if she had once thought about him, she had no reason to let him know about it.
She muttered a single word with a brutally cold tone, "No."
Yaakov closed his eyes and seemed to have given up on her as he said, "Fine, I'll let you go."
…
Ruby held Yaakov hostage while she immediately made her way out of the Drake family mansion.
It was still drizzling in the middle of the night. However, Ruby never once dropped her guard even the slightest.
Ruby realized how cunning and deep his thoughts were after only spending a few days with this man. She decided that she had to absolutely keep her guard up with him.
While holding a knife to his neck. Ruby kept looking over her shoulder and only walked away after making sure that they were not being followed.
"Give me a car, Yaakov. Also, drive me to the airport!"
Ruby immediately shoved Yaakov into the car.
However, that sharp knife had never once left his neck.
Yaakov pointed at his bleeding head and neck before mockingly saying, "Look at how much of a mess you've made me. Do you still have to hold a knife to my neck?"
"I'll stop if you aren't so cunning. However, asking you to stop being so cunning is basically harder than reaching the sky."
Yaakov replied, "You truly don't even have a fraction of feelings toward me, Rubes."
Ruby furiously exclaimed, "You're wrong. It's much lesser than a fraction of feelings I have for you. Now, stop talking and drive!"
Yaakov held back his anger and started the car.
Due to the injury Yaakov sustained on his head and how hard Ruby was when she held the knife up against his neck, he was starting to hallucinate and lose his vision.
"Are you sure that you want me to drive like this? My head is currently injured and I haven't stopped bleeding yet so even if you don't care about my injuries, you should really care about your life! Who's to blame if an accident happens?"
