Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 498

Truth be told, Adam didn't like Jean from the very first time he laid eyes on her. Even though she seemed well-mannered and always treated others warmly with an innocent smile, he could see right through her. He knew Jean was manipulative and two-faced.

He learned the truth about a week before Brad was supposed to bring his girlfriend home. That morning, he had invited his friend out to exercise at the park. All of a sudden, he felt lightheaded and could barely even stand.

Just then, a young, beautiful woman walked up to him and supported him. "Mister, you look like you're having a heart attack. Here, take one of these nitro pills. It'll help."

Adam was gently guided to a bench where he could rest. After a while, he felt much better. He thanked the young woman and asked for her name, where she lived, and how she knew he had a heart condition.

The young woman responded, "I'm Jean Sawyer, and I live in Stone City, up north. I didn't know you had a heart condition, but you looked like you were having a heart attack. And please don't worry; it was no trouble at all."

Initially, it seemed like a trivial matter—but Adam had a nagging feeling. The name of Brad's girlfriend also happened to be Jean Sawyer. Could they have been the same person?

Due to this strange feeling, Adam had Travis tail the young woman to see where went and who she interacted with.

Travis later reported, "Mr. Hamilton Senior, I think that young lady is Mr. Brad's girlfriend. I followed her for a bit and saw her walking hand-in-hand with another man. They weren't heading to the school or Stone City. She's smart—kept looking over her shoulder. I came back because I didn't want to be caught."

After realizing who she really was, Adam couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to her than met the eye. Was it really just a coincidence that he had a heart attack that day? If it was, his ill fate was awfully convenient for Jean.
