Jean's face contorted when she realized her place in Brad's heart was in jeopardy. How could this be happening? Why was that wretched Nadine still alive?
Jean suppressed her deep-seated resentment as Gigi's sobs came through the line. In a soft, comforting tone, she said, "Crying won't solve anything, Gigi. You need to figure something out.
"I can't get through to your brother at the moment, but... why don't you ask Nadine for help? Right now, she's the apple of your brother's eye. He'll definitely hang on to every word she says. Why don't you give it a shot?"
Even though those were the words that rolled off her tongue, Jean's heart was filled with nothing but bitterness.
Anyone with half a brain could see that the only reason Brad was being so harsh on Gigi, to the point of disregarding their sibling bond, was because he wanted to settle the score on behalf of that despicable woman, Nadine.
He wasn't like this in the past. All the tenderness and care he once reserved just for Jean were now being showered on another woman. How could she not be consumed with hatred?
Thus, although she was fully aware that Nadine would never help Gigi, she deliberately suggested it, hoping to drive a deeper wedge between the two of them. Jean was basically pitting them against each other.
Gigi was a powder keg waiting to explode at the drop of a hat. Jean figured it'd be a great idea to use her to confront Nadine.
After listening to her suggestion, Gigi was seething with anger. "Jean, you can't be serious! I can't believe you want me to ask that bitch for help! You know how much I loathe that woman, so why would you come up with such a ridiculous idea? I'll do anything, but I won't stoop that low!"
What on earth was Jean thinking? Gigi would rather die than ask Nadine for help.
