It was evident that Sebastian had feelings for Nadine as well.
Adam was pleased that the two of them were getting along. "Sebastian is going to stay in Janctera City for a while, Nad. He's new to the place and doesn't know his way around. It would be great if you could show him around when you have the time. And don't worry about Sean; I'll have Travis take care of him."
Worried Nadine might turn him down, Sebastian hastily chimed in. "Right, I'll be here for some time to look into investments, so I'll be counting on you, Ms. Scott! Oh, by the way, can I call you Nadine? Ms. Scott just sounds too formal."
In truth, he was quite taken with Nadine. Even though she had a child and had gone through a rough marriage, she didn't seem defeated or bitter. The Nadine he knew was always cheerful and optimistic.
Although life had hurt her, she still loved it and approached the world with a pure heart, which was truly admirable.
If Nadine hadn't still been married to Brad, he'd have already looked for an excuse to spend some one-on-one time with her, just to tell her how much he admired her.
As soon as she learned that Sebastian was looking to invest in a business in Janctera City, her eyes lit up. "You're planning to invest here? That's wonderful! I'll support anything that helps our city thrive. Mr. Caldwell, if there's anything I can do to help, just say the word! I'll be at your service!"
She called this city home and loved it dearly, so she wanted to do whatever she could to help the place she loved. Since Sebastian's investment would contribute to the city's economy, she was more than willing to lend a hand wherever possible.
Sebastian was thrilled by her response. "Alright then, since you've put it that way, I won't hold back! I just got off the plane not too long ago and am starving. Could you take me somewhere to eat? Preferably somewhere that serves local specialties."
As soon as his words fell, Nadine glanced at Adam. "Grandpa, I'm going to take Mr. Caldwell out for lunch. You should get some rest now."
