Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 582

The hospital room was quiet and eerie in the dead of night, the sharp scent of disinfectant filling the air. Jean stood barefoot on the cold floor, staring at the man she had been yearning for with teary eyes.

If crying rivers could soften Brad's heart, she would have cried them dry. Unfortunately, Brad, who she had once loved, no longer cared about her.

No matter what she did, it would always be wrong in his eyes. He had abandoned their years of love for someone new. Jean couldn't accept it, but she didn't know what else to do but drown herself in tears.

"Brad, please! Let me explain. That incident had nothing to do with me. You have to believe me! Aunt Jessie came to blackmail me because I didn't give her money or help her bail Harry out. She told you all those things because she hates me. You can't believe her, okay?"

Her voice was choked with sobs as she reached out with trembling hands, attempting to grab the hem of his shirt. But Brad deftly avoided her touch.

He was so fast that Jean, who tried to lunge at him, lost her balance and fell hard on the cold tiles. Pain shot through her lower half as she hit the ground, and she cried out in pain.

Brad's gaze was as sharp as an eagle's, locking onto the frail figure in front of him. The icy glint in his eyes sent chills down her spine. He gradually approached Jean, who sat on the ground, each footstep echoing like a heavy hammer striking her heart.

Jean could feel him closing in. The suffocating pressure made her breaths quicken. Her heart thundered in her chest, reverberating through the silence of the night like the pounding of a war drum. Each beat was more intense than the last, and it felt like her heart would leap out of her throat.
