Evelyn had put a lot of effort into that night's family dinner. Not only did she urge Daniel to attend, but she had gone out of her way to seek Adam out. After all, it wouldn't feel right to have a family gathering without everyone present.

Evelyn had also arranged a seat for Jean and reminded her to keep her mouth shut, behave, and seize the opportunity to make a good impression on Adam. That way, once Nadine and Brad divorced, Adam might consider Jean as his potential granddaughter-in-law.

Even though Daniel had given her a hard time when she asked him, Evelyn still managed to persuade him with a smile. When Gigi learned that Jean was coming, a smile crept onto her face. She snorted and held her head high as she walked past Nadine. She then rolled her eyes at her before going outside to welcome Jean.

Nadine didn't like Gigi either. She didn't even acknowledge her, treating her like she wasn't there. Brad, however, noticed the way Gigi was treating Nadine and snapped at her, "What do you think you're doing, Gigi Hamilton? Is that any way to treat your sister-in-law?"

He was walking on eggshells around Nadine, but that didn't mean he would stand for anyone treating her poorly. Gigi was about to snap back, but after catching a warning look from her mother and remembering the trouble she had recently gotten into, she grudgingly backed down.

She reluctantly glanced at Nadine and muttered, "Sorry, I was acting out of line earlier."

Brad's gaze focused on Nadine. "If her apology doesn't seem sincere to you, I can make her apologize again." His gaze was soft and full of affection as he looked at her. Even Adam couldn't help but glance at Brad a couple more times, giving him a look of approval.

Nadine couldn't care less about Gigi and didn't want to waste her energy on the young lady. "It's alright," she responded apathetically. Gigi had always treated her like this. If she wanted revenge, she could exact it herself. She didn't need Brad's help, nor did she want to owe him anything.
