Cameron answered truthfully, "Jean's been locked in the basement of Hamilton Estate by Mr. Daniel until now."
The only reason he knew this was because of his love for gossip. Cameron was on good terms with quite a few of the Hamilton family's bodyguards. Whenever Brad was in a bad mood, they would turn to Cameron for advice on how to avoid his wrath, and he would share his tips.
Consequently, Cameron was well-liked among the bodyguards, and they were equally forthcoming with him whenever he inquired about something.
After hearing that, Brad's knitted brows relaxed a little. His gaze remained glued to the doorknob of his hospital room, filled with concern and anticipation. Last night, he had promised Nadine he would think about the divorce, and she had promised him that she would visit him today.
Hence, he kept his eyes fixed on the door of the hospital room. His eyes were brimming with hope, like a lovesick teenager who had fallen in love for the first time. He was afraid she wouldn't come, but he was also afraid that she would leave as soon as she arrived. Most of all, he was afraid to face her dislike of him.
Although he had promised Nadine he would consider the divorce, that didn't mean he was in favor of it. After everything they had been through together, Brad had long since decided that Nadine was the woman he wanted as his wife. There was no way he'd entertain the idea of divorce.
He was still intent on winning her back. Divorce wasn't even on the table.
He only said that as a temporary measure. Once her anger subsided, and she was no longer upset with him, she would naturally stop bringing up the divorce. Brad had it all planned out.
However, his temper flared when he stumbled upon those comments. Nowadays, Jean's name was all it took to set him off.
