Brad could see the hostility Gigi had for Nadine in her eyes, and she wasn't even trying to hide it. He set down the pen he had been using and looked at his sister coldly. "I'm well aware of her feelings for me, and it's not your place to comment!"

Gigi had been spoiled rotten since she was young; she was not only bad-tempered but also sharp-tongued. Knowing she wouldn't have anything nice to say, Brad quickly stopped her before she could badmouth Nadine.

The reason he and Nadine had ended up where they were now was entirely his fault. He had never listened to Nadine, nor had he appreciated the kindness she showed him. Thus, he held onto a vicious woman like Jean and lost someone as precious as Nadine.
