Brad's face darkened, and his gaze was cold. Those who knew him well would understand that he was on the verge of losing his temper.
But Jennifer was oblivious to this and continued her rambling. "Brad, if you really don't want to be her scapegoat, you should divorce her as soon as possible. I'm telling you, Nadine is no good. She doesn't even respect her own mother, so how could she be good to someone she's not related to?
"You're foolish. I'm telling you, run while you can. Get far away from that woman, or you'll be miserable if she keeps clinging to you."
Jennifer detested Nadine. With her not around to refute, Jennifer used the opportunity to smear her name, wishing Brad would divorce Nadine right then and there. She became so emotional that she was practically spitting as she spoke.
Unaware that Brad's patience was reaching its limit, Jennifer went on and on. She continued painting Nadine as the most ungrateful person in the world.
Finally, as she went on with her yapping, Brad's tolerance snapped. He shot a deadly glare at Jennifer, his eyes filled with murderous intent. "Are you done?"
Brad didn't need anyone to judge Nadine's character. After over six years of marriage, he knew her personality far better than Jennifer ever could. If he hadn't wanted information about Jack from her, he wouldn't have bothered talking to her.
Hearing Jennifer relentlessly slander Nadine, Brad could no longer hold back his anger. "It's a tragedy for Nadine to have a mother like you. A woman like you doesn't deserve to be a mother."
If it weren't for the fact that Jennifer was a woman, Brad would've already struck her.
With a look of disdain, he tossed the promised money out the car window as if it were a handout. "If I hear you badmouthing Nadine again, I'll rip out your tongue!" Brad shouted.
