In the room next door, separated by just a thin wall, the Hamilton family's bodyguards had Lucas and his men surrounded. The tension in the air was so thick it could be cut, and it looked like a fight could break out at any second.
Brad helped Nadine into the ambulance and arranged for a trusted bodyguard to take Sean away. He then dragged the four men who had assaulted Nadine, flung open the door, and tossed them in front of Lucas as if they were trash.
All four of them had their limbs twisted and broken and were curled up on the ground, groaning in agony like writhing maggots. Quinn, who had never witnessed such a brutal scene, screamed and buried herself in Lucas' arms.
Lucas put his arm around her shoulder and gently patted it. "Relax. I'm here, aren't I? There's nothing to be afraid of," he reassured her, sizing Brad up.
Brad was far more composed than Lucas had expected. It had been over 40 hours since Nadine was first locked up, and Brad had just shown up. Clearly, he was someone who could keep his cool.
The fact that he'd taken down four of his best bodyguards the moment he arrived showed he wasn't someone who could be underestimated.
The Hamiltons and the Castillos had been sworn enemies for as long as anyone could remember. On the rare occasions they crossed paths, they'd exchange pleasantries to keep up appearances while secretly wishing each other's demise.
Hence, Lucas had never seen Brad up close. He couldn't help but sneak a few glances as he took in the promising young man before him.
Words like refined, elegant, and strikingly handsome barely did him justice. Brad had deep eyes that seemed to look at everyone affectionately. Yet, he gave off a cold and distant air that made people hesitant to get close to him.
