Chapter 162
Desperate to save her hair, Vivienne finally gave in and told Sophia where the key was hidden. With a harsh pull, Sophia mlade Vivienne feel a sharp pain in her scalp.
Sophia let go, a chunk of Vivienne’s hair still caught in her fingers. Sophia looked disgusted and threw it back at her. As Vivienne opened her mouth to scream, Sophia immediately pushed the dirty rag back in.
Sophia snapped, “Keep yelling and I’ll knock your teeth out.”
Trembling with a mix of fear and hate, Vivienne glared at Sophia, thinking, ‘I wish I could tear her apart and feed her to the dogs.
Sophia slid open the balcony door and saw Nadia curl up in a sad ball. She looked badly dehydrated after being outside too long, her lips dry and cracked. Sophia asked, “Can you still walk?”
Nadia looked up at her, a little dazed from the sun. Sophia looked like she was glowing with sunlight, a soft halo around her. It felt warm and calming
Nadia’s nose itched and her eyes turned red–rimmed, but she held back her tears. With a shaky voice, she said, “Yes.”
Sophia walked over, grabbed her arm, and helped her up. “I’ll take you to the infirmary,” she said calmly as if her earlier anger was just a quick moment.
“Thank you,” Nadia whispered softly.
Sophia didn’t say anything, annoyed that Nadia was moving so slowly. She picked her up. Nadia froze in surprise but then wrapped her arms around Sophia’s neck.
As they stepped off the elevator and got close to the infirmary, Sophia put her down and said in a cool, steady voice: “If you don’t want this to happen again, stay away from me.”
Nadia bit her lip. She knew what Sophia meant. Nadia clenched her fists and took a deep breath. “I want to be friends with you,” she said, her voice trembling but firm. “Even without you, I get picked on.”
Even though she was from the Moore family, her dad was her grandpa’s child from a secret affair, and her mom was never loved by her grandpa.
Her dad died in an accident when she was five, so she and her mom had to live as unwanted people in the Moore residence.
Since Nadia was little, she was bullied by the Moores and their friends–tortured all through her childhood.
Her mom was too weak to do much but hold her, cry, and tell her to bear it.
When Nadia was twelve, her mom finally couldn’t take it anymore and left the Moore family, disappearing without a trace.. in the house–only kept in school to protect the family’s good name.
She stayed invisible to her grandpa until her really good SAT scores made him notice her.
Sophia looked into her eyes, thinking about her sad story. “Ever think about fighting back?” Sophia asked suddenly.
After that, Nadia was invisible
In the original story, Nadia was really good with numbers. The Moore family used her and threw her aside. Their lives were very alike.
Nadia’s face froze in shock. Without another word,/Sophia left.
Back at 604, Sophia found a crowd at her door. When she appeared, some looked nervous, others wary. They looked away and scattered.
Gossiping voices floated out from the dorm–Vivienne was talking with others inside.
Vivienne said, “She’s totally crazy–I’m not joking, her sister Yvette told me! She said when Sophia goes nuts, she doesn’t care who you are. Can you

believe that? She chased her mom with a knife.
“Sophia was the one who pushed Howard down the stairs! And his ruined face? All her fault.
“Look at me. All these injuries are from her–she even tore out chunks of my hair! You better be careful around her.”
Other girls chimed in.
“We should tell the counselor and the principal. If it’s true, no one would want to stay with her. Just being on the same floor scares us.”
“She’s the best in STEM–other schools are fighting to get her. Even if we tell, the school won’t do anything.”
“No matter how smart she is, she’s still crazy. There’s a lot of us; what if she kills-”
Their words suddenly stopped as Sophia came in, looking scared. Vivienne looked away, guilty, but thought, ‘Sophia wouldn’t do anything to me with everyone here, right?‘
Sophia sneered, “Vivienne, no matter how tough I am, I can’t beat you. You’ve got the guts to eat shit–I definitely don’t.”
As soon as she said that, everyone in the dorm went quiet. The other girls stared at Vivienne in shock.
They stepped back a few steps, disgusted. Vivienne glared, angry. “Sophia, what are you talking about? I’d never!”
Sophia smirked and challenged, “Dare you say you haven’t?” Vivienne suddenly remembered the gross mop from yesterday.
She’d brushed her teeth until her gums bled and hadn’t eaten all day. Hearing Sophia again made the terrible smell come back. She twisted her face in disgust and started retching hard.
Grinning, Sophia said, “Vivienne, you’re seriously the most unbelievable person I’ve ever met. I’ve never seen anyone actually eat shit before–you’re truly one of a kind.”
Vivienne gagged hard. The others backed away in disgust and finally ran out of the dorm.
Vivienne threw up over and over, tears running down her face. She gasped, “Sophia, it was you! You put that dirty mop in my mouth.”
She already imagined how everyone would look at her, which drove her crazy.
