Chapter 31

Just as Sophia was trapped in her nightmare, her dared and modilled mind gradually began to clase

it was as if a sound drifted toward her from afar, like the gentle flow of a mountain stream. The tireless sound of manning water filled her ears, wrapping

her like a heavenly melody.

That sound seemed to transport her to the heart of nature itsell, driving away the nightmares that haunted her and filling her with a sense of peace and

healing

Sophia slowly relaxed her whole body and drifted off to sleep once i

time, free from the grip of her nightmares.

Early the next morning, just as the sky began to brighten, Sophia was woken by hunger.

She had fallen asleep right after coming home yesterday, and no one had called her down for dinner.

After washing up, she went downstairs in search of food. With a piece of bread in her mouth and a carton of milk in hand, she ate while preparing for her

The servants brought out a hearty breakfast. Sophia plopped herself at the table without a second thought and began eating before anyone else arrived.

The servants looked like they wanted to say something but didn’t dare stop her. Once she was full, Sophia tossed down her utensils and went straight back upstairs.

When Heather came downstairs, she frowned with displeasure. “Sophia is becoming more and more uncivilized”

Yvette gently tried to comfort her. “Mom, don’t be upset. Maybe Sophia was just hungry

No one else had noticed, but wette had seen that Sophia hadn’t come down for dinner the night before. Everyone in the Chandler family instinctively ignored Sophia’s presence, so naturally, Yvette didn’t remind them either.

Looking at Yvette’s well–behaved and considerate demeanor, Heather felt both comforted and pained. “Wette, you’re so thoughtful Living with Sophia must be such a burden on you.”

“I don’t feel burdened,” Yvette replied. “As long as Sophia is happy, endure anything.

Jonathan and Sean had just come down the stairs when they overheard Yvette’s words, and their dislike and resentment toward Sophia deepened.

After returning to her room, Sophia received a message from Ciara: [Thank you.]

Though Ciara didn’t say what for, Sophia understood. Still, she worried Ciara might go easy on the Sampsons.

Sophia narrowed her eyes slightly and replied. You’re not going soft on the Sampson family, are you?

Clara’s reply came quickly: Of course not. Don’t worry, I’ve already contacted those people. I’ve reported the evidence you gave me to the relevant authorities. I won’t show any mercy to the Sampson family]

Sophia smiled with satisfaction, though there was something unreadable in her eyes.

Whether or not Ciara would truly stay ruthless, Sophia had made backup plans. This was both a best for Clara–and for Kevin

She was very much looking forward to seeing how the Sampson family would react when they found out it all started because of Yvette.
