Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Five minutes later, in the alleyway, Sophia had just driven away two creeps.
Sophia clapped her hands and looked at the tall, long–haired beauty who was lazily leaning against the wall. The beauty took out a cigarette tase and a lighter from her bag and lit a cigarette.
“Miss, you have quite the skills,” she said, blowing out a smoke ring. Her voice was regal and seductive.
Yvonne walked up to Sophia and curiously examined the woman in front of her. The long–haired beauty smiled at her. “Miss, you’re quite adorable, she said. For some reason, Wonne’s face turned red instantly.
Sophia, with a poker face, looked at the long–haired beauty. “Mr. Marshall, are you staying here because you are worried about Mr. Hebert?” The beauty was taken aback, not quite processing the words.
“Sophia, what did you just say? She is-“Wonne’s eyes widened in shock as she stared at the long–haired beauty in disbelief.
Corey Marshall’s eyes sharpened, and he became wary. “Miss, do you know me?” He didn’t deny it.
Sophia shook her head. “No, but Mrs. Hebert came to me a few hours ago, asking me to help her find Ava. I refused.
“Mr. Marshall, I thought you had already left Jelasburg. I didn’t expect to run into you here. It seems you still have feelings for Mr. Hebert.”
Corey’s face darkened. “What do you really know?”
Sophia curled her lips into a mysterious smile. “I can read the future.” Corey’s mouth twitched, clearly skeptical.
Sophia spoke confidently. “Two years ago, Benedict abandoned your sister when she was pregnant. Benedict was supposed to marry her and take her home. His mother, Mrs. Hebert, despised Ava’s background, and Ava was left to suffer.
“She attempted suicide but was saved by you. However, she has been battling depression ever since.”
In the dimly lit alleyway, Corey’s expression was inscrutable as he looked at Sophia. “I’ve already taken my revenge.”
Sophia rolled her eyes disdainfully. “Your so–called revenge was to make him fall in love with you and then lose you?” Corey remained silent.
Sophia scoffed. “You might end up losing yourself in the process.”
Corey’s face darkened, and he gritted his teeth. “I like women.”
“Who knows?” Sophia shrugged, examining Corey from head to toe. “Maybe after pretending to be a woman for so long, you actually started to believe you are one.” Corey was left speechless.
Sophia’s face suddenly turned fierce. “If anyone dares to bully or hurt someone I care about, I’ll burn their entire house to the ground and leave no one
alive.”
Corey couldn’t help but think to himself, ‘That’s illegal. I’ll end up in jail. I just wanted revenge, not to ruin my entire life. Besides, I still need to take care of my sister.‘
“Boring,” Sophia said with a dismissive flick of her lips. Seeing that Yvonne was still in shock, Sophia slapped her forehead lightly. “Let’s go.” Yvonne obediently followed her.
Corey took a few steps forward and called out to her retreating figure, “What’s your
name?”
“Sophia,” she replied.
The alleyway was now empty except for Corey. He finished a cigarette before stepping out of the alley. He hadn’t stayed in Jelasburg out of mercy for the Hebert family; he wanted to see their downfall.
Chapter 58
Wonne was still dazed even after getting into the car. “That person was actually a man. But he doesn’t have an Adam’s apple
“He sounds like a woman, and he has such a great figure, a tiny waist, and long legs. Apart from having a flat chest, he looks like a woman, vonna added, staring blankly at Sophia.
Sophia explained, “It’s just a disguise. Some people can change their voices to sound like men or women, old people, or children. They can even imitate
others.”
“Wow, that’s amazing.” Wonne murmured.
Sophia safely dropped Wonne off at her home before driving back to the Chandler residence.
As she pulled up to the entrance of the community, Sophia saw Alfred squatting by the roadside. She honked and rolled down the window. Alfred looked up and saw Sophia in the car, quickly getting up and walking over.
Sophia rested her hand on the car window, looking at the haggard and exhausted man
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
Alfred wiped his face and said, “Howard recorded a video. He’s going to tell his fans that you pushed him down the stairs. His fans are crazy. Be careful and try not to go out.”
Sophia wasn’t surprised. She had anticipated this when she pushed Howard down the stairs. After all, Howard had used his fans against her more than
once.
Alfred frowned, unsure of what to say next. Sophia’s reaction was just too calm.
Sophia waved her hand. “Alright, I got it. You can go now.”
Alfred watched as Sophia drove into the community. He frowned, shook his head with a self–mocking smile, and then left.
Back at the Chandler residence, Sophia overheard Heather talking to Yvette on the phone. “There’s nothing on the west side of the city. Why did you go there? It’s so hot.
“Can you even sleep at night? Maybe I should send the driver to pick you up.”
Sophia raised her eyebrow. ‘What a coincidence. Yvette went to the west side too and hasn’t come back yet. It looks like I really did get there first. Yvette and Yandel won’t meet. That’s kind of satisfying,‘ she thought to herself.
When Heather saw Sophia come back, she ended the call with Yvette. “Sophia, why are you back so late?” Sophia didn’t respond.
Heather continued, “I’m not blaming you. Mrs. Hebert called me and asked about you. She wants you to contact her as soon as you get back.”
Sophia flatly refused. “I don’t want to contact her.” Heather looked embarrassed.
Sophia narrowed her eyes. “Did you give her my contact information?”
