The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 268

Very soon, the news that the kids who bullied Jonas were sent to juvenile detention spread across the whole school.

Some students breathed a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, reporters swarmed the school gates and surrounded Aaron.

"Mr. White, what's your take on this matter?"

"This is the first time any student from your school has been sent to juvenile detention for bullying. Do you think this will affect the school's reputation?"

The reporters were clearly enjoying all the drama. As I watched their aggressive behavior, I could no longer hold back. "Do you think what I did was wrong?"

I stepped out from behind Aaron. He looked at me in shock and waved his hands, trying to get me to leave quickly.

I dodged his hands and kept my expression cold as I glared at those reporters who were here for a scoop.

"I'm the main party responsible for this matter. Wouldn't it make more sense to talk to me directly?" I asked.

I could only imagine how I looked at that moment. I saw that all of them started to wear expressions of fear. Some of them even took a few steps back. Suddenly, the rowdy school entrance quieted down completely.

I asked, "No more questions? Then, shall I leave?"

This was their only chance. I was still willing to play along with them now, but this would be the last time.

Hearing what I said, a few braver reporters stepped forward.

"Mr. Joplin, don't you feel any regret sending those kids to juvenile detention? They're still children, after all."

"Exactly, they're children. It's precisely because they're children that they need to be properly disciplined. If they're not shown proper guidance now, they'll suffer when they're older," I replied.

I made myself very clear. There was no way I would relent no matter who came to plead for those kids.

Those reporters fell silent. They were keenly aware that those kids had no excuse.

I swept my gaze over them, making sure there were no further questions before I left.
