The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 351

Lorraine took out the phone as I instructed but didn't really understand why. "Why are we calling my dad?"

"Have him take Sam back," I said.

Sam had been wandering around aimlessly. It would lead to trouble sooner or later.

I squeezed Lorraine on the shoulder. "I can't always be by your side. He's bound to come looking for you when I'm not around."

Sam didn't know how to give up. He wouldn't stop until he achieved his goal. I absolutely wouldn't allow him to harm Lorraine.

"I'll call him right now," Lorraine said.

It took three or four attempts before Gerald finally picked up. "Who is this?"

He sounded incredibly angry, though I didn't know who provoked him this time.

Lorraine looked at me with a hurtful expression. Gerald didn't even have her number saved.

I took the phone and said directly, "I saw your son."

Gerald raised his voice so high that it hurt my ears. "Where is he? What did you do to him?"

I raised an eyebrow. I had thought that the bystanders in the hospital would have already posted the videos on the internet.

"At People's Hospital. You might be able to catch him if you hurry." I hung up right after I finished.

Lorraine had her head lowered. She started to stare into space after she took her phone back from me.

"Are you upset?" I asked.

I could roughly guess why she was sad. The call must have reminded her of what Sam said just now.

"You knew all along?" she questioned in an accusing tone.

I had wanted to change the topic to distract her when I heard the question.
