The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 360

These police officers would only protect certain people.

"I'll only say this once. I won't give them a single cent of the money they ask for, but they have to pay for the harm they caused my wife," I said.

The officers looked confused at my words.

"We heard about your wife's situation. Has she been hospitalized?" one of the officers asked.

"She suffered from a threatened miscarriage, and it's all thanks to them," I stated.

I cast a frustrated glance at the people in front of me. "So, they have to pay for it one way or another."

"Pay for it? How do you expect me to do that?" Chad asked.

He looked at me in frustration before he walked up to me. "That's just karma."

The moment those words left his mouth, I sent him flying with a kick.

This was the police station.

The surrounding officers immediately stood up and reprimanded me, "What are you doing? How dare you fight here?"

"Since you won't do anything about it, I'm just taking matters into my own hands," I said in a cold tone.

"Don't you know what you're doing is illegal?" one of the officers asked.

"I do, but so what?" I retorted.

If they didn't care about Lorraine's well-being, why should I care about them? I spread my hands and stared at them with impatience.

"Let me make myself clear. If you won't apologize, then no one is getting any money from me," I declared.

Yes, they were injured. It wasn't unreasonable to compensate them. But I wouldn't give out that money so easily.

Chad had come prepared to collect the money, but my words made his expression darken. He said, "What do you mean by that? Do you expect us to apologize to you?"
