Grandma sat beside me and observed the company's employees. Each one of them looked lazier than the last. All of them looked like they had just woken up from naps.

"It's working hours. Who gave you permission to work like this?" While I might have left Joplin Group, my words still had some sway. I was only satisfied when the lazy expressions disappeared from their faces.

Grandma watched as I reprimanded them with a smile on her face. "Joplin Group wouldn't have ended up like this if you had stayed."

She had a serious look on her face. Joplin Group had been built by her own hands, but it was about to be sold off by a useless grandson.

No wonder Henry had never fully accepted Chris. It wasn't like Henry had never brought home other illegitimate children in the past. Grandma had accepted all of them as well. It was only Chris that she was always cold to.

Chris was met with Grandma's sharp gaze the moment he exited the meeting.

Her gaze swept across the room before she looked at the businessman Chris had been talking to. "What kind of business were you discussing?"

The question was actually directed at Chris.

"Grandma, this is my business partner. Please don't make things hard on him." Chris was afraid of being exposed, so he hurriedly motioned for the other man to leave.

"Hold it," Grandma ordered. She gave the man a careful look.

"Why do you look so familiar?" she wondered.

No matter how she looked at him, she found him familiar. Yet due to her old age, she couldn't figure out who he was. But she was sure that he wasn't a legitimate business owner.

Grandma demanded, "So, I'm not even allowed to know what kind of deal you're discussing?"

She slammed her hand on the desk with authority. "Don't forget who the chairperson of this company is."

Chris realized that Grandma was really angry and hurried to her side to placate her.

"Grandma, of course, I know that you're the chairperson. But you don't have to frighten my client like that, do you?" Chris tried to calm Grandma down while he shot an angry glare at me.

The businessman slipped out in a hurry as we entered the room.

Chris asked me in a serious tone, "What are you doing here?"
