The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 367

Chris had been negotiating the sale of the company for a while. He wouldn't have acted so hastily if he had known that Grandma would come to investigate.

He cast a cold glare at me. He had not expected me to come here.

"Why don't you bring out your most recent contracts for us to take a look at?" I asked.

Seeing the hatred in his eyes, I knew that Chris wanted nothing more than to tear me apart.

Grandma merely stood silently by the side. When she saw how Chris was acting, she said coldly, "Don't blame Cole for this. I was the one who wanted to come."

Chris was still the general manager of the company. Even if she was unhappy with Chris, she still couldn't berate Chris in front of me. There were still formalities that needed to be observed.

But if the rumor of Chris trying to sell the company ended up being true, then the general manager position probably wouldn't be his for much longer.

I watched as Chris tried to avoid eye contact and added fuel to the flames, saying, "I heard that quite a lot of people resigned under your leadership. Those people were some of my most reliable employees. What did you do to drive them to quit?"

Chris looked at me awkwardly, his expression darkening by the second.

"What does that have to do with you? They're the ones who couldn't even do their jobs right, so what's wrong with firing them?" Chris shot back.

"There's nothing wrong with it, of course, but you even fired Quinton Zeal. That's where you made a mistake," I remarked.

Quinton Zeal?

Grandma's expression changed at the mention of the name.
